Rating: Summary: What I thought it would be!! Review: I've never read a romance before, but it's what I expected it to be - fluff!
If you enjoy the notion of virgin women who act tough on the outside but really just want to melt into the arms of the first man (with a farmer's tan, a bit of muscle, over 6 feet tall, and raise cattle) on the inside (so they can marry them and lose their virignity) then this might be a good read for you.
Or you can take that plot structure and put meat on it for your own amusement, since that is all Diana Palamer has done. And maybe you'll be able to do a better job of convincing your readers of the love that was supposed to have sprung from sudden, uninvited, sexual advances, and put a little more steam into the detail of the marriage consumation acts.
Rating: Summary: Don't Bother!!!! Review: I've read a lot of Diana Palmer's Books and I have to say this one is bad!! Some of her long tall Texan's are great No Brainer kind of books. This one was a waste of time and money.
Rating: Summary: This book lacked any kind of romance!! Review: Im a great fan of Diana Palmer and I purposefully search out any of her newest novels, I bought this one without reading the back, so excited that it was a new Diana Palmer!! I was highly and greatly disappointed. I dug into this book with great excitement and found myself bored after the first story. I couldnt believe it was a Diana Palmer book!!! It disappointed me so much that I dont even know that if I'll buy any of her newest ones. It was boring, out dated, unbelievable, the characters lacked any spark or excitement, specially the hero's!! I missed that, the excitement, drama, romance and passion, Diana please go back to that!!! Diana Palmer fans, dont waste your money on this one, I'd just as soon read my older Palmer books that I have saved.
Rating: Summary: Great storylines and continuing saga from Jacobsville. Review: It picks right up from the other Long Tall Series. I can't wait for the next one.
Rating: Summary: Ms. Palmer, Shame on You! Review: Not one of her best efforts, and I have read all her novels to date. The characters are under-developed, the passion superficial, and the stories are trite after a fashion. This book provides just a glancing taste of future novels as yet to be written by this author. Mediocre read.
Rating: Summary: It was very, very disappointing. Review: Over the years I have read all of Ms. Palmer's books. I am generally very pleased with her work and consider her to be a very entertaining author in the romance genre. But I must say that these three stories were bad. There was no develpment of either the main characters or their romances. It was like reading a non-romance book which lacked an intresting plot. The main characters were presented and without any tension or romance, the men decided that they were getting old or weary of life and that they should marry the heroine because after all she'll do. The only character who was vaguely intresting was Cy, a peripheral character that turned up in the first two stories (Guy and Luke). The third story, Christopher was the worset. I love stories about the Deverell's and the Lassiter detective agency, so a story about Tansy's youngest son sounded exciting. But I was soon disappointed. The story was poorly written and not well thought out. There are inconsistencies in family relationship and ages. Example, Tansy is in her early seventies, her son Chris is 33 years old and she had him at "about 40" years of age. Say she was 38 which would make her 71 at present. Near the end of the story Tansy says she meet Della's grandfather shortly after her first husband death (Chris's father) "about 40" years ago. If he died "about" forty years ago, Chris has to be at least "about forty" years old, not 33, not to mention she would be about 80, not in her early seventies. I know this is being a stickler and petty but that's my point, the story was so uninteresting that the age thing ended up being the only of interest. At one point, I kept checking the cover because I didn't believe Diana Palmer had written what I reading.
Rating: Summary: I COULD HARDLY GET THROUGH THIS BOOK. IT WAS SOOO BAD. Review: THIS WAS PROBABLY THE WORST DIANA PALMER BOOK THAT I HAVE EVER READ. ALL THREE STORIES WERE BORING WITH THE WORST WRITING SHE HAS EVER DONE. I HAD TO FINISH THE BOOK JUST TO SEE IF MY ENDURANCE COULD HOLD OUT. HER STORIES HAVE THE MENTALITY OF THE 1950'S; HOWEVER, SHE TRIES TO PASS THEM OFF AS HAPPENING AT THIS TIME. WHAT A PREDICTABLE DISAPPOINTING AUTHOR SHE HAS BECOME!
Rating: Summary: This book had no plot. Review: Totally disappointing! Each character has a tragic flaw to overcome yet meets the perfect mate and decides to marry that person within the first few chapters. The characters then fall in love and decide to marry. Since each story has basically the same plot, Palmer creates three boring stories in one book. I feel cheated.
Rating: Summary: Are we sure Diana Palmer wrote this? Review: Whenever I see Diana Palmer's name I usually buy the book without even reading the synopsis on the back. What a disappointment and waste of money and time.
Rating: Summary: Ho hum... Review: While not quite up to the quality of some of the earlier Long Tall Texans, these guys weren't obnoxiously macho either. I certainly liked them much better then Justin and Calhoun. I thought the story with Luke Craig and the camp for delinquent boys was touching and enjoyed the other two stories also. Not an outstandingly wonderful book--but a pleasant evening's read and I also bought the audio book and enjoyed it too.
