Rating: Summary: two and a half stars Review: It didn't take me long to realize I was reading an old JAK. However, this was defintely one of her better early works. I actually liked the hero here - he was kind and considerate and it was totally understandable that he didn't want to tell Sara about his former life. My problem with this book was with Sara. What an idiot! Unfortunately, the plot was based on her acting like an idiot so I really didn't like the plot either. I think if Sara had been a normal JAK heroine and the plot reworked a bit, this could have been an excellent read.
Rating: Summary: Normally I lover her books, this was so bad I didn't finsih. Review: My best girl friend and I can't wait for her books, but this one is so bad I am not sure she really wrote it. I did not even finish reading it. Hope, she redeems herself in the next one.
Rating: Summary: Good book- Bad movie Review: Okay so the girl was somewhat silly in the book but JAK was still able to write in a way that made the story interesting. The hero was worth buying the book for I will give you that. However, if you are thinking of seeing the movie...DON'T. The book was ruined in the movie and the girl went from being silly to stupid.
Rating: Summary: Boring! What?? Review: Some of you need to check the books that you have. This is a typical Krentz book. Certinaly not boring. Can you imagine being given to someone? I read everything I can get my hands on by Krentz, I really like her books as Amanda Quick. With her plots you feel like there is a point, a mystery to solve, with a good romance thrown in. I seriously suggest these reviewers check the books they have.
Rating: Summary: wonderful book Review: The characters in this book were intriguing. The plot to this book was more detail and more interesting than the T.V. movie. I thought movie was boring because the movie did not coincide or truly portray Ms. Krentz's main characters or the book itself. So, therefore, for those who have miss the T.V. version of this book, dont't worry about. Stick with the book.
Rating: Summary: NOT HER BEST WORK Review: THIS BOOK WAS TOTALLY BORING, I DIDN'T EVEN FINISH READING IT. I NORMALLY LOVE HER BOOKS, ARE YOU SURE SHE WROTE IT? SORRY, BUT NEXT TIME I BUY ONE OF HER WORKS, I WILL GO ON LINE AND READ THE REVIEWS....SORRY JAYNE ANN, BUT I AM SURE YOU HAVE A LOT OF DISAPOINTED FANS THIS TIME.
Rating: Summary: I can understand WHY it was made into a movie for TV! Review: This one was made into an original Harlequin movie on The Movie Channel! Sara Fraser goes for visit to her uncle Lowell Kincaid. However, he seems to be missing. Knowing his secretive background she begins to worry. Her uncle once told her that if anything ever happened to him she was to go to Adrian Saville. Adrian just sold his first thriller novel. It is all about gold and documents hidden during the Vietnam War and the agent sent to fetch them at all costs. Lowell had given him the idea during one of his wild stories. He knows Lowell well and is not concerned when Sara shows up telling him that Lowell is missing. Even after they visit Lowell's cabin and find it tore apart, Adrian is not too concerned. Uncle Lowell had left a message on his answering machine for them to find and instructed Adrian to look after Sara. She has a vivid imagination. Sara deals with it all well until she finds out Uncle Lowell "gave" her to Adrian as a "present" for finishing his novel! Then she finds the sketch of a wolf and knows that Lowell is REALLY in deep trouble. Seems that the renegade agent, code-named "Wolf" was in the area. Lowell had told her a few things about this agent. A real loose cannon! The fact is hit home when someone begins trying to kidnap Sara. ***All this is just the beginning. It sets you up for a roller coaster ride of secrets and outrageous surprises! Many twists that only the most observant readers will figure out before they are revealed. I can see why it was made into a movie for television!***
Rating: Summary: enjoyable, but also a pain Review: This puppy has been reprinted and reprinted, a 1985 JAK that is one of her better early works. The characters are charming and the writing diamond brilliant, though I really really wanted to slap the female every once in a while, for she really bordered on silly. I mean her uncle said WAIT and what does she do?? She wants to go to Southeast Asia with a man she suspects is a rogue CIA agent??? OH PLEASE. Some intelligent needed. When she would go on and on arguing I really got tired of WAITING...and when she was almost kidnapped off the streets the day before, what did she do...walk a mile into town to get her car with boyfriend following all the way and she never was aware. Only JAK's bright righting kept this one from really sinking fast. I did like Adrian's character, but wish Sara was less of a dolt.
