Summary: ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS EVER WRITTEN.
Review: I don't normally like books with a lot of legal matters in it. I prefer stories by Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Shirley Jackson. I have no idea how this book got my attention but outside of "It" by Stephen King...i have never read a book that came anywhere close to being as exceptional as "Primal Fear" it is intelligent, very suspenseful, mastefully crafted, completely distubing. What makes this book perfect is it's ending...i have never seen one like it. READ THIS BOOK...then read SHOW OF EVIL because it is every bit as good...if not almost better...but don't waste your time with "Reign in Hell" I have no idea what happened with that one. it's the best psychological thriller ever.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Exciting, but very foul in language
Review: What's with all the cussing, anyway? These people should have their mouths washed out with soap, all those f words, esp.Hey hey Pinero Great love scenes,Vail may be a ---hole,but he has a goo heart to those that need it.

Review: Primal Fear is one of the most carefully planned and well written books i have ever read.William Diehl creates a team of experts with the top lawyer -Martin Vail,a deadly prosecutor who tries to unravel the truth about the evil Aaron Stampler. definately a book to read....more than once

Summary: Second Reading Even Better!
Review: This was my second round in reading William Diehl's Primal Fear. The book has run through many printings which alone is a testament to it.The story just takes the reader off into it!

The characters of Martin Vail, Jane Veneable, Aaron Stampler, et. al. are indeed believable. A compelling read.

The film stands up just as well. There is a hynotic quality to the movie that has me finding myself viewing it each time as if I just have to see it again.

Great book... will be around a while!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Excellent Stuff !!
Review: I have been reading thrillers for a long time now , but this book is something else.

Martin Vail's character is very well done. You are on his side all the time, hoping to see him win. The twist in the end is one of the very best. I got goose pimples reading the ending .

A must read . Very highly recommended.

Summary: Was a great bk ,movie would like to see a part 2 movie

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: bad
Review: Sorry, all of you who gave this 5 stars. I thought it was terrible. I knew the murderer before the end of the first cassette. (unabridged edition) I hated Martin Vail. There was not a sixties stereotype left unused. I knew the final twist before the end of the 2nd cassette (no I did not see the movie). By the way, someone should tell Mr. Diehl or his editor that "keeping two steers for breeding" is a fruitless occupation.

Summary: Brilliantly written, extremely tense and suspenseful
Review: A spine chilling murder of an archbishop in his rectory...An angelic looking teenager found clutc hing a blood-stained knife in a confession box... The drama unfolds with ace lawyer Martin Vail, who has just won a cool million bucks by suing the state, being asked to do a pro bono by defending the person who has butchered the archbisop.Martin Vail assembles his deadly team of three and begins to piece together this absolutely riveting mystery .Faced with a formiddable prosecutor,Jane Venable, who doesn't believe in prisoners,Vail uses all his skill and expertise to give us one of the best courtroom dramas ever. Full credit to Diehl for spinning a really chilling yarn. All the characters are adorable and the ending is a real winner. This novel is going to stay in the minds of readers for a long time to come.

Summary: 4 words: This book kicks ass!!!
Review: This is one of the best books I have ever read. I did not want to put it down - it was that engrossing. Sadly though, I made the mistake of seeing the movie before reading the book. But that's only because I didn't find out it was a book until a little while ago. Anyway, I saw the movie and I thought, "Wow! That kicks ass!" Awesome movie, even better book!!! I especially love the ending. One thing I found that was a little kooky and unrealistic was that that Goodman character did the nasty with the teacher girl, and Vail did it with the shrink. Thats a little bit too much unnessesary sex, dont you think? Just my opinoin. Other than that, this is the best book I have read yet! MEG was ok, but this one beats it by a long shot!!!!!

If you got anything to say to me, just email me, k? I would really appreciate it.

Summary: an excellent contemporary read
Review: If you've seen the movie, you'll love the book -- but what else is new? If you haven't seen the movie, you aren't missing a thing! Even though I already knew the unique "twist," I still couldn't put the book down. The movie omits substantial bits of crucial information, which makes the book that much better. Diehl proves to be a contemporary genius, and I too would agree that Grishman doesn't have anything on Diehl. Primal Fear is one of the best books that I have read in a long time.
