Summary: A Delightful Read!
Review: "Private Scandals" by Nora Roberts is an absorbing novel that provides a fascinating view of the world of daytime talk shows. This book will captivate readers everywhere, as Nora Roberts once again proves why she is my favourite romance author!
Deanna (Dee) Reynolds is a beautiful, lovable, and ambitious newswoman turned talk show host. Her popularity and ratings are rapidly increasing, much to the dismay of her ex-mentor and rival, the attention-hungry Angela Perkins. Angela is past her prime, and she is desperate to remain #1 in the ratings and ruin Deanna in the process. To add to Angela's bitterness towards Deanna is the fact that Dee has begun an exciting new romance with Finn Riley, Angela's former lover! The romance between Dee and the ultra sexy Finn is provocative and fresh. Dee is a sweet yet determined heroine who readers will surely fall in love with. And who wouldn't want a man like Finn?
As the story progresses, Deanna soon finds she has bigger problems than a catty rival who plays dirty. An obsessed fan who has been sending her unsettling notes turns violent, as people who have hurt or upset Deanna in some way start turning up dead. Now Deanna must watch her step, or she herself may end up in the hands of an obsessed madman!
This book will surely entertain and satisfy you. The characters are all realistic and intriguing, and the mystery is suspenseful and thrilling. This is a truly enjoyable and well-written book, so sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Summary: A gripping read
Review: "Private Scandals" is a well-crafted murder mystery with a good dollop of Nora Roberts brand romance as well. Deanna Reynolds, a news reporter-turned-talk show host, finds herself the target of a stalker's obsession, and must try to uncover her stalker's identity before anyone else around her -- or even she herself -- turns up dead. Along the way she finds love and romance with a fellow newsman, and in so doing unwittingly triggers her stalker into desperate action.

Readers will fly through this nearly 500-page read as they race to the finish to either figure out who the stalker is or, as was the case with me, to see if their suspicion was correct. For some reason I was confident very early that I knew who this person was, but knowing didn't keep me from staying up until all hours to verify it.

This was an extremely well-written and very entertaining novel.

Summary: This book was so good I couldn't put it down
Review: Finn and Deanna were both likeable characters who came to life on the page. This book is far from being predictable. I was unable to guess who the murderer was. I liked the blend of humor and drama. Deanna's television show was great---very positive. This was the first book that I've read by Nora Roberts and I was quite impressed. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good romantic suspense.

Summary: a standard novel, but with wonderful charcters
Review: Have you ever read a novel about the intrigues behind the scenes of TV world? Well, the plot of Private Scandals follows the same cliches. However, Ms. Roberts' way of handling characters make the reading of Private Scandals worth your while.Angela Perkins is your standard "old star", she's beautiful (but aging), successful and hard as nails. Deanna Reynolds is the proverbial rising star. She's fresh, caring, smart and pretty too boot. This is not the case of "Something about Eve", but the other way around. Finn Riley is the very sexy journalist caught in the web (an echo of Murphy Brown's Peter). The plots takes us trough the rivalry between those two strong women, with an extra twist of a crazed stalker obsessed with Deanna. This novel is not quite up to Nora Roberts usual standards, but it makes for a few hours of great fun.

Summary: Fluff at its flimsiest
Review: I found this book predictable and hard to get through. Deanna, besides her issues with Angela, has a stalker. When she got her first note from said stalker, I had a pretty good idea who it was. Unfortunately, I was right.
Disappointing, formulaic, and boring. Forced myself to finish it in the hopes that Ms. Roberts would throw me a twist. No such luck.

Summary: Least Favorite Nora Roberts Book
Review: I LOVE Nora Roberts books. I rarely find one I don't enjoy. Although I enjoyed this book, I think it was my least favorite book. Mainly because I found the characters hard to associate with. The larger than life TV star using the ever grateful reporter seem very implausable to me. The long distance romance between the two lovers seemed just as implausable to me.
However, it is a good book in the true Nora Roberts fashion- not too mushy, full of true to life love and a great mystery.
