Summary: Bil Keane's genius never falters.
Review: One wonders how a man as talented as Bil Keane never stretched to other mediums before this. My opinion, he was waiting to complete this, his opus: The Family Circus Sings Christmas Songs. Mr. Keane chooses to not take the conventional "Christmas Album" road. From Dolly's aria from Mozart's 'Idomeneo: Recitativo ed Aria "Quando avran fine omai"' to Billy's stunning rendition of Bellini's heart wrenching piece from 'La Sonnambula: Recitativo e Cavatina "Care compagne, et voi, ternei amici"' (usually performed by only the highest of sopranos), one will want to cuddle children by the fire, roast warm seasonal nuts, and feel up the spirit of the holiday until they explode with satisfaction. The free caps included were a pleasant surprise as one wouldn't expect a Christmas Album of this caliber to come with cap-gun caps (no lie, check the close-up of the cover scan). Worth the $395 used price.

Summary: Now give us some figgy pudding!
Review: This lost classic of America's favorite family moves beyond the limits of the time, space and tempo. Thel and the clan bring new meaning to these classic tunes by changing the words of classic Xmas songs we have loved through the ages. You'll love Billy's version of "We wish you a hare krishna!", and Dolly's sensitive new version of "Oh Come All Ye Fat-holes," and tears will roll with 'ol Gandpa's "I'll Be Dead For Christmas."

These songs will take on a new meaning for America in the post-9/11 world, as we try and link our past with the new world each 9/11 brings us.
