Rating: 5 stars
Summary: An excellent production.
Review: This is a very moving and involving dramatic series that guides the listener through the war years in America, touching on how overseas events impacted life here in the States. Starting with the Great Depression and going through till 1945 and the war's end, the 3 hosts effectively present the drama, concerns, fears, and triumphs of U.S. citizens as they faced the greatest war in our history. Music, voices, and documents of the era are intermixed with commentary on the war itself, cultural events of the time, and interpretive essays that try to put the war in perspective, and offer an excellent overview of this traumatic period in American history. Highly recommended.
