Summary: strange but good
Review: Avi has a different but interesting writing style. This book, Something Upstairs, was weird but I could not put it down. I like the way the book goes from present time back 200 years ago, during slavery. Although a little hard to follow at times, this book WILL keep you on the edge of your seat. Especially if you like ghosts and mysteries.

Review: Something upstairs is a book about a boy who moves to a new town in to an old house that has a little mystery about it . But than again all old houses have those, but avi dose a very good job on this one. The book begins with a boy named kenny. One day just like all the others. When kenny arrives home from school his parents are standing in the front room waiting for him. He knows something is wrong because his parents are usually still at work when he gets home. They tell him that they are moving to road island because his father has found a job that pays better. The new house was actually a very old one and every thing was so different here inside and out. One night kenny was awakend by a loud scratching noise, so he gose to find out what it is. He finds nothing but a spot on the floor. He hears this noise for afew more days until he gose to see what could be making this noise. He sees something amazing there is a man coming out of the spot in the floor. Kenny can hear the man call for help, and for some reason he runs to the window and sees a man in a dark cape. Tlock eyes and the man disapears in to the shadows. In the end kenny finds out how to help the man i wont tell you how but it all ends with a gun shot.

Review: Something Upstairs by Avi is a great book, you won't want to put it down until you finish it. It is about a boy named Kenny who moved from California to Rhode Island. At night, he hears creepy sounds. He finally goes into the attic and finds a ghost who was killed there and tries to find out how he died. Avi is a great author, who will keep you interested to the end. He always has a great plot. If you like a sort of scary story. I give this book 5 stars because it it very interesting.

Summary: My Favorite Book
Review: I read this book for my Summer homework in 4th Grade, and I loved it! It was my first book that I have really enjoyed. Personally, I have not enjoyed other books by Avi, but this book really caught my attention. Since then, I have re-read this book about 3 times and it never gets boring. It keeps you interested, and make your imagination run wild! I think that everyone should read this book. Someting Upstairs is Kenny, who moved from California to Rhode Island. His new house is very old, and at night, suspicious events happen. This book keeps you interested every milisecond of the way!! BEST BOOK EVER!!

Summary: My opinion of this book
Review: My opinion of this book was it was good because there was a lot of action and somethings happened even though you wouldn't suspect it to happen. Like when Caleb shot the man from the mob Even though this book starts kinda boring, it sure doesn't end boring, not at all. This book is about a boy name Kenny that decides to help the ghost haunting his house. Kenny finds himself in a great adventure, traveling through time and witnessing things that most people would not witness in real life. I would recommend this book to everyone that loves adventures.
