Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Excellent radio drama from the CBC
Review: "Nightfall" was a radio drama show from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in the early 1980's, and ran on NPR for a while, too. This tape contains two 1/2 hour episodes from that series.

"Assassin Game" concerns a "future" (late 1990's) in which a university sponsored Game involving eliminating other players becomes a bit too realistic. The story is a good concept, and is well acted and well produced, but the ending comes off a bit lame. It is still enjoyable, though.

The other episode, "The Devil's Backbone", is a lot better in that the writing doesn't let down the general production. In this episode, a trio of treasure hunters look for sunken Spanish gold off the coast of Nova Scotia, in an area reputed to be cursed. Excellent story.
