Summary: All Fall Down
Review: This is a very entertaining book to read. You won't know what will happen until the very end. It kept me awake all night to finish the book. What I really like about this book is that the relationship between characters and their struggle with life are very well written. And the suspense of the book is seemlessly fit into every characters in the book. It's fantastic.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Psychological Thriller
Review: This is the first book I have read by this author, and I was impressed. This was a psychological thriller with many twists and turns . . . leading up to a satisfying end. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys the genre.

Summary: Good storyline.
Review: This is the first of Erica Spindler's books I have read, and I really enjoyed it. Although I figured out fairly quickly who the Dark Angel was, I spent every spare minute this weekend reading it because I was anxious to see how the sequence of events would play out. There weren't a lot of surprises in this book, but all in all, it was a good read. I'll definitely try another of hers.

Summary: WONDERFUL
Review: This latest book by Spindler wasn't nearly as up to par as her other books. Fortune and Shocking Pink had better character developments and better plot twists. I don't think she tried as hard on this one. The two villians were not very believable. Spindler should have spent more time developing one of them in particular. The romance that occurs towards the end is too quick and boring. She didn't give us much reason to root for the couple. I was disappointed in this book. It wasn't terrible, but I know she can do a lot better.

Summary: A Suspect Filled Page Turner
Review: This was my frst book by Erica Spindler. I found I had great empathy with Melanie, the small town police officer. Her two "twins" made me happy to be an only child and yet long to have siblings at the same time. Her rapport with the FBI profiler was very real, it was easy to see their chemistry. The story was like a steam train that just kept picking up speed. Admittedly, just when I thought I had it figured out, I was even more pleased to find out, I was wrong. With multiple plot lines running it kept you wondering how/if they would all connect. As a sex crime, psychological thriller, I found this a "must read".

Summary: It made me laugh out loud, which isn't as good as you think.
Review: Two friends and myself listened to this tape on a long drive back home from Toronto to Ottawa. We laughed so hard we were crying. Given that this is supposed to be a thriller, this is not such a good thing.

First off, though I rarely listen to audiobooks, the narrator of this tale tried to put "accents" and "masculinity" in voices as she read for them. I imagine that was to help us differentiate, but she doesn't have a whole lot of talent for it, and it just ended up sounding somewhat trite or foolish.

Secondly, the writing itself was somewhat straightforward. We had car-consensus on the murderer by the end of the first side of tape one, and then just sat back and waited for it to play out. Worse, the stereotyped use of yet another semi-psycho lesbian had us groaning out loud.

The strange thing is, we really enjoyed the ride. We haven't laughed like that in a long time... but like I said, it wasn't supposed to be a laughing story. It was laughing at, not with.

Skip this tape.
