Rating: Summary: A wonderful read! Review: "A Bear..." is one of the few books that really fascinated me. I usually buy children's books to give to my little cousins and I must say I enjoyed reading Paddington as much as they have. I decided to buy two copies: one for myself and one for my cousins. This is one children's book that will be appreciated by adults as well. The characters are quite real and easily identified with. I believe the selling point of the book is the innocence of Paddington himself. Michael Bond manages to bring out the innocent kid in us as we read of Paddington's adventures.
Rating: Summary: A Bear Called Pattington- The Best Book!! Review: A Bear Called Paddington is a great book about a bear about the size of a teddy bear. He is funny and takes every thing so seriously. He gets into some pretty funny messes. I recromend this book to people of all ages who love humerous and exciting books.
Rating: Summary: A Bear Called Paddington Review: Classic story of Paddington the Bear who comes to live with the Brown family in London. Most children know the stuffed animal but haven't heard the escapades. This issus is a welcome addition to children's libraries. Very good, humorous, fun animals, with good black and white illustrations. Recommended for K through the 4th grade students.
Rating: Summary: Paddington... Review: He is so clumsy, that anyone will laugh. I read all of the Paddington books I could find as a kid, and I read them again as I got older. And I would read them again, and again and again. This is a very good reason to have kids, so you can buy this book. Too bad he has become some sort of commercial bear, he is much greater as a little clumsy bear trying to please all the people.
Rating: Summary: Great book! I can't believe I lost it as a kid... Review: I haven't read "A Bear called Paddington" since I was a kid. I love this book! Paddington reminds me of childhood and what it's supposed to be about. Paddington definitely gets into a LOT of trouble, but he's so adorable and innocent, that his trouble is more like an adventure. I like the fact that the Browns love him for who he is, trouble and all. He's just too loveable to kick out of the house!
Rating: Summary: This book is great! Review: I really liked this book because of adventurous little Paddington. I liked when they picked him up at Paddington station.
Rating: Summary: I laughed so hard I couldn't breath Review: I was introduced to Paddington as a young age, and I voraciously read every book I could find. The situations Paddington got himself into were so hysterically funny that I would have to put the book down even the third or fourth time I read them. I am eager to see if the magic is still there reading them as an adult.
Rating: Summary: A Bear Called Paddington Review: My daughter read this book for school and truly enjoyed it. Although only 8 and there were some challenging words and concepts, she was enamored with Paddington and all his silly antics. Now the stuffed animal has better meaning for all of us at home.
Rating: Summary: So there is not only Pooh Bear! Review: My daughter read this book for school and truly enjoyed it. Although only 8 and there were some challenging words and concepts, she was enamored with Paddington and all his silly antics. Now the stuffed animal has better meaning for all of us at home.
Rating: Summary: A Bear Called Pattington- The Best Book!! Review: THE BOOK STRESSES THE IMPORTANCE OF CHARITY. A FAMILY TAKES IN A PERFECT STRANGER. WHY? WHY NOT. IT REMINDS ME OF MY GRANDMOTHER WHO TOOK IN 4 OR 5 KIDS AND RAISED THEM AS HER OWN (SHE HAD 10 OF HER OWN). ON THE LIGHTER SIDE, READING BOOKS IS ONE OF THE BEST WAYS GENERATIONS BOND. BUT THEY CAN'T TRULY BOND UNLESS THE OLDER GENERATION CAN ENJOY THE BOOK ON ALL THE SAME LEVELS AS THE YOUNGER GENERATIONS. PADDINGTON BEAR IS NOT A CHILDREN'S FAVORITE. IT IS A PEOPLE FAVORITE. WHO DOESN'T ENJOY WRITING ON STEAMED GLASS? AND YOU CAN ALMOST HEAR HIS CLAWS AS THEY ETCH INTO THE MIRROR. I LOOK FORWARD TO READING THE PADDINGTON STORIES TO MY KIDS AND NEPHEWS AND NIECES JUST AS MY PARENTS AND MY ELDEST BROTHER TOM DID. INCIDENTALLY, TOM ALWAYS REFERRED TO PADDINGTON BEAR AS "FOREST JUDY". I DON'T KNOW. IT JUST MADE ME LAUGH.... AND HIM TOO.
