Summary: What a story!
Review: I purchased Casca: The Eternal Mercenary when it first came out years ago. I now have all 22 books and each one blew me away. Even now after so many years after the last book, I still think about Casca and wonder; if he really was alive, where would he be today and what story would he have to tell? The historical aspects alone are worth the read(s).

Summary: Great
Review: I Read the book in one sitting, Since then I have read all of the others. Some Very good, some just Ok. I have the cover to the first one but not the book. I wonder if that copy the first reviewer in this list read was not the same book. I will believe it so, and not be as disappointed by the loss of the book.

Summary: Barry Researched every detail. A Fantastic read!
Review: I was Barry's Manager and Record producer in the 70's, and most of all his friend to the very end. Barry was meticulous with everything he wrote. He would spend hundreds of hours on research. When he was through with a book, you just knew it was going to be Great, and this one is Fantastic.

Summary: A history-buff's dream come true.
Review: If you are going to read one historical novel, this is the one. I have read many good books but this one was a masterpiece. The story draws you in so quickly that you soon forget about everything else. I failed an exam because of it and have never regreted it.

Summary: A great adventure that can be read over and over.
Review: If you're a history buff, an action adventure fan or just a person who enjoys a good read, this is the book for you. I bought all 22 books in this wonderful series as they were published and have reread them many times over the years. Whenever a friend asks to borrow something to read my first recommendation is always "Casca".

Summary: An OUTSTANDING book
Review: In the late 80's, while overseas in the Marines, a friend told me about the series and it grabbed my interest. When we got back to the states I bought the first book from the PX. I read it in 1 day and was hooked. I went back to the PX and bought every other book in the series they had availible and it still took me another three years to complete the collection. I found the first book to be an enthralling read that I just couldn't put down. Casca is just a common soldier and anyone who has been in the military, especially the infantry, can really relate to Casca. When Casca takes Dr. Goldberg back to that day on Golgotha, it's like you go back with him. The book draws you in and holds on to you. You can't help but feel for Casca as he goes thru the ages and falls in love knowing that he will have to move on eventually. Forever fighting and never knowing peace. A page turner if there ever was one. I highly recomend this book and any others in the series.

Summary: Casca, the man that is forever, above all, a soldier
Review: Incredible reading. Myself being a soldier, I can identify with this series of books. Recommended to me by a fellow NCO, I went to the trouble of finding the first five books and read them in five nights. I will find the rest an read them. Incredibly gripping and accurate detail. I recommend them to any military history buff. I enjoyed the first five immensely.

Summary: Casca the Eternal Mercenary
Review: One of the best books I've ever read. Sadler's knowledge of History is amazing. Too bad Sadler caught a bullet in Central America in the mid 80's.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: this is a great book, written by a great soldier
Review: The book is great on its own. But is superb as the begining of a well researched and thought out series. I have the whole series except this one, which was lost. I am in the process of searching for this book right now. I hope the new author can do Mr. Sadler and Casca justice.
