Rating: Summary: An experiential novrel Review: This book tells the story of Joy Adamson, naturalist, and her husband, as they explore the animal life of Africa. Along the way, they adopt Elsa, the runt in a litter of lion cubs. Elsa becomes part of the family, but lions were not meant to live with people, and Ms. Adamson eventually has to do what is best for Elsa. The story is not the real strength of this book, though; Joy Adamson gives the reader a very real sense of what it was like to travel across and live in Africa, amongst the wild animals of its plains.
