Rating: Summary: Interesting but slow toward the middle Review: I found this book to be very well-written and most of it was gripping, but toward the middle it lost my interest and I almost didn't finish reading it.
Rating: Summary: First book in a long time that had me up till 3 a.m.! Review: Every person wonders what he would do if faced with the utmost challenge. The characters in this book find out. It is well-written and fast-paced. It appeals to a wide range of readers because it touches on universal themes -- friendship, man against nature, the struggle for survival. Interestingly, the "good" characters are not always squeaky clean when facing moral choices, and of course that makes them like most of us. The story is unlikely in the extreme and quite real at the same time. A wonderful book. Enjoy!

I want to read it again now that I am reviewing its been a while since I read it. just read it for yourself and be amazed. find out what good literature is.
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: One of the Scariest books I have ever read. No Stephen King book can compare. (It also made a great movie).

Rating: Summary: amazing book and adventerous Review: I've never read such an exciting book. I didn't want to put the book down for a minute! THANK YOU James Dickey for making my life exciting!
Rating: Summary: Great American Writting Review: The way to really understand what great writing is would be to read any best seller mystery(i.e. - Cornwell, Grisham, etc.) then read Deliverance. Its not even close. This is an American classic.
Rating: Summary: the essence of friendship within the novel moved me deeply Review: I was stuck into the world of this book from the beginning. I wasn't able to put the book down, partly because my mom was making me read at the time (because lord knows I wouldn't read on my own), but nevertheless I couldn't put it down. I loved it, thank you James Dickey for making my life a little brighter.
Rating: Summary: Hold on tight! Review: Whoa! I stumbled across this novel as I was glancing at the "Modern English Library's 100 Greatest Novels of the 20th Century." I have never been as involved in a book as I was in this one. Dickey, a tremendous author and poet, literally warps his readers into the story. Great characterization and vivid details make this novel a chiller. This is the perfect novel for a rainy weekend... It takes a hold of you and doesn't let go until you turn the final page. Read it!
Rating: Summary: Great book, great pals. Review: I liked the part about the two dirty old men, too
