Summary: Chilling!
Review: I just finished this book. I got quite absorbed reading it. I couldn't put it down. The end of the story sent a chill down my spine. After this book, I purchased almost all of Og's books.

I don't want say a lot about the book, I don't want to spoil it for you.

Just look at the price of the book. The book has a great story, it's inspirational and if you follow the advice of the book it can change your life! So what are you waiting for? :-)

Summary: Makes you rethink your life and life goals
Review: I read this wise book a couple times several years ago. I still have the copy, all marked up where I found useful thoughts and quotations. The story of Simon the Ragpicker and the writer could be made into an Academy Award winning movie, if some producer would do it right -- it's that moving.

The God Memorandum, at the end, is like a modern day book of the Bible, entirely positive and profound. However, I don't think it's necessary to do the little piece of cloth ritual!

Summary: Borders on blasphemy......
Review: I was prepared to like this book, as it came highly recommended from a friend. My problem isn't so much with what it says as what it doesn't say. I find it to be secular humanism in disguise. The basic premise of "you have all the potential in the world inside you and just need to tap into this to succeed" is pretty much the standard modern self-help philosophy. But to phrase this in terms of a memorandum from God...oh my.....is bordering on blasphemy, and I don't use that term lightly. Og and others: read the book of Ephesians to find out where the real power to transform your life comes from. It's the saving and redemptive work of Jesus, who is never mentioned once in this book. Even the title....The Greatest Miracle...refers to the author's idea that each individual is the greatest miracle. Sorry, Og, but I think I would reserve that for the Son of God made man. Tapping into one's abilities may make you a better person on earth but it can't get you eternal life. But through faith in Jesus a person is literally reborn and transformed.

Summary: What a Miracle
Review: I will never forget the first time I read this book. I was thirteen, my life was just upside down. One night, during one of our long and cleansing talks, my mother reached up to the bookcase, plucked a worn out old paperback with creased cover and bent and yellowing pages and handed it to me.

I was a teenager, I wanted to read "fun stuff" and this one looked anything but fun. What I didn't know at the time was that because of this little book, I would go on a journey into myself. Goose bumps arise on my arms even now just thinking of it! So much of the way I see life today (at 24) and how I deal with life's "speed-bumps" came from this book.

I have had to re-purchase this book in order to read it again, too many pages have gone missing through the years between my mother and I.

If you feel you have lost all hope, any sight of what is really important, this book will utterly and completely change your life...if you have everything together, are unconditionally optomistic and always smiling...even you will gain from this book--and any book written by the late, great Og Mandino.
