Summary: Very good, but not great
Review: I enjoy Ms. Brockmann's writing. I don't think this will be my favorite, though. I liked the heroine, Alessandra. I thought her transformation from dependent trophy wife to strong, resourceful woman was very good. For Harry, the hero, all I kept seeing was Mel Gibson in the first Lethal Weapon movie. Undoubtedly that's just me, but it still felt very familiar. I liked Heart Throb better - Jed's pain and growth touched me more deeply. Regardless, I look forward to Ms. Brockmann's future efforts.

Summary: I liked it!
Review: I found the characters interesting. The pain Harry felt when Shaun confronted him was heartbreaking. I appreciated the change that Allie went through from beauty to substance. And that Harry was man enough to see past the looks. I was left feeling kind of sad for George, Kim and Nic. I hope that Ms. Brockmann decides to devote a future book to resolving these people in need of a love like Harry and Allie. I will look for other books by Ms. Brockmann. I have found her writing to be true and very moving.

Summary: Waste of Money
Review: I found this book dull, and had no familar elements of romance (perhaps is wasn't suppose to be a romance?). If I want to reads a mystery I would go to the mystery section and get a mystery book. The book was slow paced, next time I will check it out of the library before spending money on a book like this.

Summary: another great book from suzanne brockmann
Review: I have read all of her books and they only get better. This was a book that you can laugh and as well as cry. The story is unrealistic but hey--that's why everyone reads Brockmann' books - to entertain! Just plain fun and enjoyment. This was definitely both of those.

Summary: Compelling suspense
Review: I loved Bodyguard! Thought the characters were believable, interesting and complex. AND the chemistry between Harry and Alessandra sizzled. Well written dialogue, the fast paced story line, and compelling action kept my attention to the very end. This is my first Brockmann book and it won't be my last. Bravo!

Summary: Good Read
Review: I really enjoy Suzanne Brockmann's books, she ties the story lines together very neatly and I feel she doesn't leave any loose ends, as she does in this book. Yes, Alessandra does only focus on her looks, but as was stated time and time again, that is all she knew, all she was told to worry about by her mother and ex-husband. But her transition throughout the story I thought was great, she even mentioned it when Harry gave her a compliment. She said that before, if anyone gave her a compliment on something other than her looks she wouldn't hear it, she would turn it around and say ,whatever, but how do you like my new eyeshadow. As for Harry not being goodlooking, I am sorry but from the descriptions I read, it sounded pretty good to me. Yes, he might not be as tall as the average hero who is usally around 6'0-6'4. But he wasn't that short, Alessandra was described as being 5'8 and Harry as being a few inches taller which would make him 5'-10, I don't feel that is too short. And for someone having eyes the color of melted chocolate and a body that can fill out jeans and a t-shirt, that sounds good to me.

This book I felt held your attention and kept you wondering what was going to happen next, even with the secondary characters, George, Kim and Nicole; and how Harry was going to handle the situation with his kids. I would definitely recommend this book.

Summary: What a terrific book!
Review: I really enjoyed this book. In fact, I couldn't put it down. The characters are great, especially Harry. Ms. Brockmann is a terrific writer, and I'm looking forward to her next book.

Summary: starts with a bang, but fizzles . . .
Review: I thought Bodyguard had a dynamite beginning, but it never really lived up to it. The heroine didn't engage my sympathy or my empathy. She seemed much more of a caricature than other heroines by the same author. I liked the hero, but the rumpled suit bit kept reminding me of Peter Falk, and I just couldn't drum up much interest. All in all the plot moved very slowly and I got bored.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Uninspired, Unpleasant, and Downright Dull
Review: I usually enjoy Suzanne Brockmann, but I'm afraid this book was a chore to get through. Disfunctional characters, mediocre plot, and boring dialogue-- who wants to read about such things when we experience them every day in real life?

The two main characters were flat and never seemed to come alive, though the Harry was marginally better-drawn than Allie. (The sub-plot with George and his women was outright distasteful. I hope that Ms. Brockmann is not intending to write a spin-off with this crew-- they are very unattractive.)

I was actually relieved whenever the main storyline was interrupted and we had a glimpse of the teenager Shaun: he was the most appealing of the bunch.

Anyway, I'm sorry to say that this is the worst Suzanne Brockmann I've ever read. Try one of her other books if you want something at all engaging.

Summary: Little romance, some action
Review: Like many others, I really enjoyed Heartthrob last year. Maybe expectations were too high, but I was bored with this one. It reminded me of action movies, that have too little plot. And frankly, that business with the Azalea bush almost had me throwing the book right there. Maybe, if you've read it, you understand. Harry and Alessandra never seem to be in love. Harry's partner and his problems, would have made a better love story. And, I found the trip to visit the children, not only an obvious hiding place, but also an unwelcome side trip for me, the reader. Sorry, but a big no, for me. 2 stars because it's by an author I've liked in the past.
