Summary: The Bachelor
Review: Too much boreing internal agonizing by the main characters. It drags out the storyline which could be told in half the words. The female lead is dumb if it takes her a whole book to realize that she'd like to travel. Roman's mother is self-centered. The reader doesn't have to be reminded which brother is youngest, oldest, etc.

Summary: Lame and Predictable
Review: I was expecting this book to be exciting and fun, but it was anything but. There were some fun parts, but overall this book made me want to go to sleep. The book is predictable, and the character development is really weak. The most predictable storyline is who the panty thief is, and even that is stale. Raina, the mother of the Chandler brothers fakes a illness so that one of her boys will give her a grandchild. Roman loses a coin toss, and decides to find a woman who he can marry. Roman still has feelings for a woman named Charlotte. I found this really unbelieveable becuase Roman and Charlotte only went on one date a long time ago, yet these two people still have strong feelings for each other, that was hard to believe, I'm sure it's possible, but still. Anyway Charlotte of course has a lot of issues and doesn't trust Roman. I thought that the first encounter between Roman and Charlotte started out good, but after that it just fell flat, and I felt that there was hardly any sparks between these two characters. The love scenes made me roll my eyes. Basically if you want really light reading material and a predicatable cheesy romance novel, than this is the book for you.

Summary: Very Good
Review: I just finished reading this and it was a very fun love story. It was a little predictable, but most love stories are, that is why we read them. I am looking forward to the other two books. I hope she does one more on their mother and her romance with Eric. It would be a nice change from the beautiful young men and women.

Summary: Classic Carly!
Review: An ultra-sexy hero, a smart heroine and a cast of interesting, sometimes quirky characters people this full-length triumph by romance mainstay Carly Phillips. Since her first book, BRAZEN, she's been an autobuy for me, and THE BACHELOR brings together Carly's best elements...particularly the hot sex between two consenting, modern adults. I read lots of romances and Carly Phillips is one of the best.

No need to recap the plot line...just rest assured if you want a frothy, fun read that will allow you a few hours of pure entertainment on a foundation of solid, often complex characters...this is the book for you. I loved it!

Summary: Have to disagree with some of these other reviews
Review: This book had me fooled initially. By about a third of the way through I thought it would be a routine light romantic read but then the author started to flesh out the characters both main and secondary and POW! I started to really enjoy the book. The romance is sexy and humourous and I grew to love Roman and his brothers as well as Charlotte. I think that Carly Phillips has a deft touch with this mix of romance and true life issues.
If you enjoy Susan Elizabeth Phillips and Jennifer Crusie you will love this book - if not, try it anyway. For me it definitely a keeper.

Summary: A Disappointment
Review: I had looked forward to reading this book but could not finish it once I started. It was very slow moving and lacked spark. It's going to Goodwill.

Summary: The Bachelor = Bleah
Review: I had my reservations about this book from the start, I had heard it was along the lines of cheesy romance books, which normally isn't my thing. Well I think what I heard was right. The books was ok, but at times I found myself forcing myself to read this book.

The Chandler brothers are 3 men who are known as the wild children in there town of Yorkshire Falls, New York. When the younger brother Roman comes home to make sure his mother is feeling better, the brother makes a bet to get Roman married off and have children so that there mother can be a grandmother. When Roman agrees to the bet he doesn't realize what he is getting into.

Roman trys to swoon the girl that he had feelings for in high school, he doesn't realize that it would be tougher then he expected. Charlotte is the woman he is tryng to get get, she owns the local womans shop and isn't going to give into Roman's ways so easily. As time goes on things change between her and Roman and she has to start to realize some things that she wasn't expecting. Roman also realizes some things and makes some changes for the better and goes on with other things.

The only real funny parts of the story at times were about the panty raider. That made me laugh.

This book has little charactor development and the people in the book seem flat. The only charactor out of the whole book I really liked was Beth and that was because she realized some things in her life.

Overall this book was boring I knew what would happen and couldnt have predicted any better then it had happen.

Summary: IS THIS A CHILDREN'S BOOK?
Review: Like the other readers, I was anxious to be part of Kelly's 'club'. I was also excited to hear that Kelly had chosen, a fun, light, beach-toting PAPERBACK book. (Hardcovers are ridiculously expensive and not worth the monthly commitment)

Yes , 'page 166' and the other two 'romps' were well written but what about the remaining 300 pages? I think those pages were written by Judy Blume. "Are you there God, it's me Carly?"

It was hard to truly develop a reader-character relationship with Raina's sons without repeatedly saying to yourself, "Aw, COME ON!" Come on, who would really believe, without a blink of the eye, without any valid professional back up, that their mother was dying! And a COIN TOSS!? COME ON!

To Carly's credit, I did finish the book; it wasn't THAT bad. But you know what they say, 'bad press is better than no press'.
