Rating: Summary: Makes You Want To Love Again Review: I have seen this book on everyones fav book list. I must say I was very pleased with the selection. I have never read a book in which I absolutely "hated" the main character. Babysister betrayed her best friend, Deborah, by seeking out her man, Darren. And Miss Triflin' didn't do it once, she did it twice. She dissed Rob too many times to keep count. He was the man truly in love with her and all too willing to bow and beg. My favorite part of the book is when Deborah is pleading for Babysister's friendship (yes...it should have been the other way around). It demonstrated Deborah's love and devotion for a friend she had known since she was four years old. Although Babysister's fathers confrontation was only a page, it was something I had been anticipating throughout the novel. He finally put her in her place and let her know the world is not hers. It is a must read.
Rating: Summary: I was "pleased" Review: I couldn't for the life of me understand why the author decided to name the main character "Babysister". It's not like it was referred to as a nickname. To me, this appeared to be the character's actual name. It was baffling and mysterious in a "I don't get it" kind of way. One thing about the book I didn't care for was the excess amount of background information about Babysister's life that was provided. Readers are forced to read through page after page of past details, most not even relevant to the current plot. I found myself skimming through a lot of pages. Other than that, I enjoyed the book overall and thought it had a catchy ending. It was a trip to read what was going through this sistah's head.
Rating: Summary: A Good Book Review: I really enjoyed the book. It is the type of book that you don't want to put down. Although the main characters name being "Babysister" was a bit of a disappointment. I believe any other common girls name would have worked just as well (i.e. Karen, Monica,)especially considering the ages of the characters in the book. All in all I really enjoyed the books true depiction of how some sisters can be deceitful to their very best friends. Plus the deceitfulness of some brothers in relationships.
Rating: Summary: Babysister is SOMETHING ELSE! Review: I really really really enjoyed this novel by Renee Swindle! My favorite character was Babysister. Even though she did alot of low down stuff to her best friend I found myself rooting for her at times. Her brother's girlfriend was weird wasn't she? I would give this book more than five stars because it was a EXCELLENT READ! What's up with her fetish...a man in work clothes and boots?! P.S. I would hate to have a friend like babysister!
Rating: Summary: It was Ok Review: I thought the book had a very good story line and it held your attention very well. I just did not care for Babysister and the way she was treating her best friend. Babysister only care about herself. I don't care for sister like that. Anyway some of the other people in the book were very real and that's what held my attention. So I would recommend this book to others. It was a good read.
Rating: Summary: Surreal, Dramatic, Edgy and Surprising.... Review: After completing Renee Swindle's, Please Please Please, I couldn't wait to do my online review ... I found the book to be surreal, dramatic, an eye opener and redeeming read. My heart went out to Babysister because of the lack of self-love she had for herself. She was looking for love in all the wrong places. I kept praying for her to redeem herself and find her true passion in life. She seemed so lost from time to time. Even with the love and support and her father, Deborah, Rob, Lisette, Sherice and Darius and Jorge. Her weakness? One word, Darren. He was a true piece of work and took the statement, "all men are dogs" to a new height. This proves that year's of friendship, trust, honesty and love should be valued and treasured. Bestfriends have a "special" bond that's more like family. I'm glad Babysister learned that lesson, even if it took the most shocking moments of her life for it to come to light. Sometimes it's a hard pill to swallow but, water can make it easier. She needed to grow-up and while reading this book, you see it happen before you eyes with every turn of the pages. Renee did a wonderful job with her first novel and I look forward to reading her second novel upon it's release. I hope she'll give us a part II to this wonderful story for sure.
Rating: Summary: o.k Review: this book was worth my 7 dollars but i wouldnt have paid more. o.k, the characters were very trifling
Rating: Summary: Everything that glitters ain't gold. Review: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE introduces us to Babysister, a young lady who feels she has the world by the tail and everything that she wants, she should have, especially if it's her best friend's man. Here is a lady who will go to great lengths to cover up her affair and her duplicity just so she will be happy. Some people argued that women like her don't exist, however, I say they do. The best part of the book is, without giving up the plot, when our little conniver realizes that what goes around, will come around, and when it does, it comes ten times harder! Here is a novel about a game of wrongdoings and right back at 'cha that will have all the players involved picking up the GET OUT OF JAIL FREE CARD and wondering what will happen to them on their next turn. Good Work, Renee!
Rating: Summary: Interesting read Review: I really enjoyed this book. Renee Swindle kept me interested in her story from start to finish. Babysister (the main character) is hilarious. Although Babysister is in the wrong and some of her thinking is just plain stupid, you root for her all the way. Swindle's writing humanizes her characters. There was never a dull moment. I highly recommend this book.
