Rating: Summary: A gift for readers everywhere Review: THESE IS MY WORDS is truly like opening an unexpected gift. I read it from the library, and ordered the hardback immediately. If you are a prolific and extremely fortunate reader, from time to time, a book will come into your life that is so special....Thank you, thank you, Nancy Turner, for your beautiful writing, and your never to be forgotten characters. Sarah and Jack are such a lushly romantic, thoroughly believable couple. And Jack's letter, oh, Jack's letter. I must stop before I burst into tears again. Don't want to give the impression that this is a "girly" book. It has all the action and excitment and violence of the colorful Old West anyone could want! Again, congratulations on a wonderful book and a huge sincere Thank You!
Rating: Summary: One of only a few books I will read over & over; cherished Review: I loved the characters in this book. You really cared what happened to them. It had adventure, &tender romance. One of few that made me laugh & cry. Excellant! Hope she writes more.
Rating: Summary: It may be fiction but alive with character and grit. Review: What a treasure! I was totally surprised by the quality of writing and spirit that Turner created. Sarah brings life in the Arizona territory of the late 1800s into clear focus with emotions and images drawn by her use of simple language and strong storytelling. Although her experiences are rough, there's no self-pity here. A solid story of range life. Anyone who enjoyed this book will be equally touched by Linda Hasselstrom's LAND CIRCLE, a current but true story of life and love on the range today.
Rating: Summary: This is the best book I have ever read!!! Review: Being an Arizona native, I bought this book thinking the history would be interesting. I cannot believe how much I fell in love with Sarah Prine. She is one of the greatest literary heroine I have every encountered! This book grabs you from the first sentence. You feel as though you have found a new best friend in Sarah. Her amazing love affair with Jack is a love story which surpasses that of Rhett & Scarlet or Romeo and Juliet. With its rich characters and amazing landscape, the story will remain with you, even after you have turned the last page!
Rating: Summary: My All Time Favorite Book Review: I bought this book because I was intrigued by the cover. It is now my favorite book. I swept thru it, anxious to see what would happen next on each page. After I finished I started it right over, and really savored it. I've read it 6 times. My sister asked me to borrow it (again) for her 3rd time. This is the best book I've ever read!!!
Rating: Summary: Aaaawwwwesome!! Review: I absolutely loved this book! It is by far one of the most captivating stories I have ever read. I really liked the diary format, it makes the reader feel as though she is peering into the private thoughts of a close friend. I hope Mrs. Turner will NOT write a sequel and ruin it. (like they did to Gone With The Wind - What a tragedy that book turned out to be.) Hey! James Cameron make this into a film!! We want to see it on the big screen!! P.S. I think Tom Selleck would be great as Jack Elliot.
Rating: Summary: I'll Remember this one for the rest of my life! Review: What a book! I laughed out loud. I sobbed and had to get up and find a box of tissues. I savored every word. It made me want to start keeping a journal, although my life is surely dull compared to the life of Sarah Prine. Nancy Turner, well done!
Rating: Summary: A FABULOUS BOOK!!! Review: I LOVED THIS BOOK! I sure hope there will be a sequel. I will recommend it to every reading friend I know!! I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!
Rating: Summary: Oh my goodness. What a book! Review: I'm still staggering; I've completely lost my equilibrium after finishing this really, really, really wonderful book. I started the book in an afternoon, fully intending to put it down by five to see to some paperwork. By seven I'm weeping through the whole box of tissues, laughing, and generally feeling every human emotions I possibly have. I love this book a lot. In fact, I'm buying the hardcover soon and put it in a special place on my shelf. Sarah Agnes Prine is indeed a true woman of the frontier. Her life is never easy, and her love hurts her as well as it brings her happiness. Oh God, just thinking about the last line of the book sends shivers up my spine. This book is indeed a tribute to the strength of women, and the crosses we have to bear sometimes to survive in this unpredictable world. Thank you Ms Turner, for this book. Thank you.
Rating: Summary: A book you'll always remember Review: This is a book that you will always remember. Usually a diary isn't the type of book I like to read, but this book swept me up in the time and Jack and Sarah's love for eachother. This is a must read AND one to read over and over again. There is always something that you may have missed from the first time around.
