Summary: Another terrific book from the new Master
Review: Having read most every other sub author out there I highly recommend you read this and all of DiMercurio's books. His knowledge of subs and the USN are real, having been a serving officer, and elevate his writings well beyond those of his competitors. His technical experience on boats is obvious from DEVILFISH throughout all his books and authenticate the realism of his stories. His writing style is gripping, the plots easily believable, and the primary characters are developed to where "you know these guys". Micheal DiMercurio, in my opinion, is the new master. The King is dead. Long live the King!

Summary: Professional and highly entertaining!
Review: I am a submarine veteran and a lover of good fiction. Michael Dimercurio is a great writer of both fiction and submarine action. What I truly like about his work is the way he creates his characters and really lets the reader get to know them. It isn't just action, it is the people we get to know fighting and suffering. His character development really helps me lose myself in the story. The other part I love, is the way he describes the life and interactions, both personal and professional, on the submarines. The language, the relationships, the professional terms all bring the subs to life. I have gone to bed, after finally forcing myself to put his book down, and awaken in the morning thinking I was back on a boat. No one...and I mean no one does it better. I have read them all, and I suggest you do the same. Buy the first book he wrote and read each one. You will almost earn your dolphins!

Summary: It doesn't get better than this...
Review: I am an avid submarine, naval warfare, fiction fan. I have not read a book to date better than this one. Micheal DiMercurio is an astounding author bound to keep you in this book until you finish it. However, in order to best understandd this book you should read his other books Voyage of the Devilfish, Attack fo the Seawolf, Phoenix Sub Zero, Barracuda Final Bearing, Pirhana Firing Point. They are all just as good as this one.

Summary: Awful, simply awful.
Review: I can't believe the positive reviews of this trash. I usually like any books in this genre, but I had trouble just getting through this one. Completely impossible plot devices, and ridiculous strategies and tactics would be ok if they were presented with even a little bit of realistic dialog and situations. Frankly, given the level of Naval and Submarine terminology misuse that permiates this book, I think the back cover is lying about the Author. No one who has served in Submarines (or even served in the Navy) would make these kinds of mistakes. Either DiMercucrio had a ghost-writter do this, or the publisher is lying about his acomplishments. Who are you people who liked this junk?

Summary: not exactly a page-turner
Review: I forced my way through the first 1/4 or so of this book before realizing that there are lots of good books out there, so there is no reason to waste any more time on this one.

Summary: Great Find
Review: I found this book on accident. I had been wandering around the book store for hours when i just decided to GET a book. So I went and got the book that I had been looking at that looked good. I also picked this one out at random.

This book was far better than the other one I bought. I had never read any of Michael's books before, so i didn't know what to expect. It was interesting through the whole book. I also learned a lot about submarines by reading this book.

I definitely reccomend this book

Summary: Threat Vector
Review: I have been a fan of submarine books since I was expelled from school for studying WWII sub tactics instead of math, english, latin, etc. I discovered Michael DiMercurio's books about a year ago and have read each one at least twice. I was immediately captivated by his writing style and the continuity between his novels. He doesn't pull any punches in his storytelling, and rather than just highly recommending THREAT VECTOR, I would suggest you start at the beginning with VOYAGE OF THE DEVILFISH and work your way through all of DiMercurio's books. If you like submarine books with an appropriate amount of high tech stuff and a continuity of characters, you cannot go wrong with any of DiMercurio's novels.

This book is the perfect book, it has Drama, Suspense and a few twists and turns in it..To the first time reader, buy this book, then buy the first book..Read the first one then get a feel for what is to come in the next one.. You will not be disappointed... Run Silent and Run Deep

Summary: All you need to know
Review: I have enjoyed all of DiMercurio's submarine action adventures except this one. All you need to know is that it takes place 15 years in the future,(making it more difficult to suspend disbelief), and the bad guys win. While it may set up a great sequel, I don't believe most people who enjoy this genre want to wait till the next book for the good guys to win and the bad guys to be vanquished.
