Summary: I could not put it down...best trading book I have read yet!
Review: While this book is not overly strong on technical details, it is excellent reading: well written and the author is liberal in showing his successess and his mistakes with equal candor. I consider this a "must read" for stock or comodiities traders/speculators. Marrty Schwartz discuss his methods that made him a champion trader, and gives one example of his "sheet of boxes that he prepares and uses daily, but I would have like a little more detail there. I like how he had to balance his family and his health with trading. His stories all have a point he is putting across.....well worth the money! Once I started. I couldn't put it down!!! If he writes another book, I'll buy it! The best trading book I have read so far!

Summary: Very Fun Financial Read!
Review: Here's a fun read in one of my favorite areas....dreaming of making a killing in the stock market. So much of this book is how I personally approached the stock market....giving up fundamental analysis for the glamour of technical trading....chasing down the perfect system whether it was Dow Theory, Elliot Wave, Joe Granville, or the obcure Magic T Theory (I thought that I was the only who really knew this one). The stories in this book are very entertaining like gambling stories. What I like most is the frank discussion of methodology...tactics that Buzzy shares....so similar to my own approach. If you are a Baby Boomer amateur technical stock market trader you'll probably love this book like I did. It's all about us and the 80's & 90's...pre-day trading.

Summary: A great read!
Review: As a professional trader I am always looking for the "edge". This book is weak on actual trading methodologies. But I really enjoyed hearing about his daily life and routines as a trader. Especially what it's like when things go against you as they eventually will if you are in this game long enough.

I had trouble putting the book down. Highly recommended.

Woops, just got a fill, gotta go!

Summary: not worth more than 5 bucks
Review: This book was mildly entertaining. His story is akin to reading an autobiography written by a drunk sailor. This guy is not much of a writer, and his story is a common one. The book is about a trader finding out who he is. He's mostly writing to himself, not you. The book is like a journal. "I just couldn't stop doubling up ! I...I...I was killing myself, oh no my wife wouldn't call to bail me out ! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH !!!! You must have discipline ! You need discipline !" hahahaha....How many times have you (if you're a trader) heard crap like that ? Same old song and dance that you read in almost any trading book...nothing profound or enlightening, and you will not learn anything. You never learn much of anything in trading until you've lived as a trader.

Summary: AWESOME!
Review: One of the best books I have ever read. If your looking for a book on the in's and out's of trading and a "show me how" type book, then look elsewhere. But for the psychology of trading this is it. From his early teen gambling lifestyle to finding the real values in life Martin Schwartz has done it all. An uplifting book that will allow you to become a better trader in your mind. Trading is 90% psychology and Mr. Schwartz will show you how he became one of the greatist traders of all time. I'd love to meet him! No matter what the situation is in life you can handle it with a trading mentality. Congratulations Mr. Schwartz and THANK YOU! You have inspired another.

Summary: Fantastic Journey
Review: This book will give anyone thinking of leaving their 'day-job' a kick in the pants and make them realise their dream.
The style of the author is excellent and keeps you on the edge all the time. The book requires very little financial knowledge but provides great insight into the workings of the financial markets.
Day Traders, Hdge funds, and asset managers alike will enjoy the frankness and excitement of the author in discussing his rise, fall and rise and the major names we meet along the way.

Summary: Excellent trading book
Review: Marty Schwartz is a man that you can learn a lot from by reading his book. He goes into some great personal stories about trading. Every trader should read this book, even though it is not vert technical he does give descent details and is a method of motivation to all traders who want to do well on their own. I have already recommended this book to several of my frieds, proving to them that there is opportunity for people to succeeed in a great way.

Summary: Great book
Review: Just like everyone else is saying, this is basically your modern day Reminisciences of a Stock Operator book. A great read with plenty of strategy you can pick up here and there. A must own for any trader, period.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Cocky writer, but great reading
Review: This book is fun. The author (and his 2 ghostwriters) have put together a very enjoyable book describing a successful trading career. Trading options, commodities and stock index futures with great success, Marty Schwartz shows how he became a huge winner. He constantly brags about how well he has done, and that may become annoying. Yet the tale is so well written, this reader can forgive his self-promotion.

Schwartz provides advice for those who hope to become successful traders, but that goal still remains elusive for most. Whether you believe all the author has to say or not, this book is hard to put down. Enjoy a well told tale.
