Rating: Summary: A Must Read for Election 2000 Review: With the upcoming presidential election, this text is a must read for all voting Americans. It gives an insight into the destructive nature of the Clinton Administration. The decline of American security and values associated with the office of President is outlined for us by the author. We should be asking our presidential candidates about their plans to restore liberty, morals, security, values, respect, fairness, and equal opportunities to the White House.
Rating: Summary: Bad writing galore Review: This is one of the worst books in recent memory. I was only able to read a couple of pages at a time. The reconstructed "dialogue" rings false--people simply don't speak the way Mr. Aldrich writes, which left me wondering how much was invented. The most objectionable, however, was the ego-driven nature of this biased report of the White House. Rarely have I read such self-important drivel. This book is amusing at times (all unintended by the author), but the rare chuckles are not worth the price of this book. Save your money.
Rating: Summary: Waste of money, time and paper Review: First of all im not pro or against Clinton. I just wanted to read an insider book about The White House. This book however is just a waste of money, time and paper.. All you get is a lot of gossip.....aka " a man came into my office and told this story " the person cannot be named...of course ? This is just a sad book from a sad and bitter and burned out man.
Rating: Summary: Interesting, but is it true? Review: Before he retired, Gary Aldritch was one of the two FBI agents assigned to the White House to conduct security and background checks on both the permanent White House staff and appointees. In this book he chronicles the difference between what went on in the Bush administration and the Clinton one.I'm not a Clinton fan, far from it, but much of what Aldritch condemns the Clinton administration for is a little silly. He complains that the Clinton staff didn't dress as well as the Bush staff. They weren't as clean, as neat, didn't show the proper respect. I suspect what we're seeing is a generation gap between the old guard represented by Aldritch and the newer, more laid-back adults of today. However, even with that, many of the things that Aldritch says he witnessed are scary, if they're true. Things such as staff members doing hard drugs right in the White House. Things such as staff members with no security clearance privy to the most classified information. The problem with the book is, it's really his word against theirs. I'd recommend you read this book but take it with a grain of salt. I only hope he did exaggerate or blew some of these things out of proportion. I'd really hate to think any President, would do some of the things Aldritch says he did.
Rating: Summary: so what! Review: Yeh, Clinton is a lousy man with a witch for a wife...and maybe they've disgraced the White House and the office of the Presidency...Maybe everything in Gary Aldrich's book is accurate...it probably is...but WHO CARES! The economy is rolling along, we're gonna have nationalized health care, and the Democrats are gonna be back in power again! I don't even care about the rather serious security breaches at the White House...we NEED Bill and Hillary...they're gonna save us all from capitalism...if they trash the White House along the way to our socialist dream state, SO WHAT!
Rating: Summary: An Interesting Book, But No Sources! Review: I read this book solely based on the positive reviews it had received. While Unlimited Access is very informative, Aldrich does not give his sources, so the validity of the stuff he writes about is somewhat suspect. While I do believe that a lot of the negative things about Clinton are true, and Aldrich's writing is good and entertaining, this book should not be condidered 100% fact. Until Aldrich reveals his sources, Unlimited Access will not be taken seriously by most people.
Rating: Summary: on the mark Review: look at everything that has happened with Clinton in the past few years...the whole impeachment thing, the China thing...you'll know why this stuff took place when you read this book.
Rating: Summary: Live in DC ... teach H.S. ....and .. a past tense Democrat Review: This book made me angry .. yet I couldn't put it down. Rumors from many sources had reached me prior to reading this book .. the Monica bit made me sick .. yet I've noted that this book was written prior to the Monica affair...most curious for a "fabrication"as some would like us to believe. Living here in DC folks often come in contact with those who give you "tidbits".. when I add up the tidbits .. and the known facts, this mess slams me in the face. An interesting note.. at present, Clinton is immune from prosecution and civil suits until he leaves office...BUT what if his wife becomes a Senator? Isn't a Senator's spouse immune too? Seems a convenient way to avoid prosecution. I guess what makes me even angrier is that I am trying to teach my students to be good citizens, to have faith in the system ... how do I answer their challenges when the White House has so little reguard for common decency? I'm A single parent who works hard, pays taxes, and finds that my dollars are squandered. This book is REAL .. that's the scary part .. and it's only the tip of the iceburg. This is a must on the read list .. thank you Gary for having the guts to write this ... most are too afraid.
Rating: Summary: the truth Review: finally someone who was on the inside comes forward to tell the truth about a man who's presidency is all about deceit and deception
Rating: Summary: It is a shame an FBI Agent has become an tabloid reporter. Review: If this agent had such a problem with what he saw he would have left. Is this book credible? If these things are true how come we have not heard these things from closer Whitehouse sources. I think the Clintons have their problems. But this guy has more problems. It is a shame that this person ever became an FBI Agent. He is as bad as the current director. He is using his position for political reasons. He offers no proof but his word. He should have wrote this book like he was preparing a case. Produce hard facts. Why is Clinton in the Whitehouse today. Nobody has been able to prove he did anything worth convicting him in the Senate. This author only serves to make himself look petty and vengeful.
