Rating: Summary: Grumpy Old Men Part III Review: Gary Aldrich has written a real page turner here. I was certainly not shocked by his accounts of Hillary Clinton's Queenly behavior, but the anecdotes were very amusing. Mostly, the book is full of petty complaints about the condition of the chief of staff's office and the fashion sense of Clinton staffers as opposed to that of the Bush staff. The book has the comedic value of humoring grandpa as he berates the "kids these days" about their grooming and table manners, all the while pining for the decorum of old John Wayne movies and "Father Knows Best" -style family values. Particularly humorous is Mr. Aldrich's furor over Mrs. Clinton's choice of decorations for (gasp) the White House Cristmas Tree. Humor Mr. Aldrich as you would any old relic with a few good stories to tell and you'll love this book... especially if you disagree with his stodgy politics.
Rating: Summary: Opinions and Rumors Became "Facts" Review: Aldrich has admitted turning rumors and opinions into facts for the book. Why is it still available for sale?
Rating: Summary: A politically incorrect review Review: A well written book but the author shows his true colors with his biased attitudes towards the Clintons, the Democratic Party. Is the author a Republican? If you hate political correctness, you'll think this review is helpful.
Rating: Summary: Poorly written outrageous claims ... and believable Review: Aldrich's amateur style leaves a bit to be desired, but the words ring true. Not discounting the enormous difficulty of launching a new presidential administration, I think the alleged excesses of 1993-95 are borne out by the documented revelations of 1996-2000. Regardless of one's political persuasion, this book is a fascinating look at the operation of the White House from the point of view of those in charge of its security.
Rating: Summary: The truth hurts! (liberals) Review: For those who live the life of an ostrich this book would seem outrageous and ridiculous. But, for people who listen and search out the truth, this book is neccessary reading. The Amazon.com editor seems to have a little dirt on his/her head.
Rating: Summary: None of this has ever been refuted -- none of it! Review: Bottom line: if you are a Clinton apologist, you won't have much use for this book. Read Gene Lyons and Joe Conason fairy tales instead. If you don't worship Bill Clinton as your lord and personal saviour, I recommend the book for its chilling portrayals of life inside the White House in the early Clinton years. This book is well ahead of its time -- yes, others inside the White House during that time will also write books verifying the information in here soon after Clinton leaves, but those people won't be treated like Aldrich, since they worship Clinton as well. The book isn't written terribly well, as it reads like an FBI report. But if you are intellectually honest and open minded, the book will make your skin crawl.
Rating: Summary: A Frightening Expose of Life in Clinton White House. Review: I read this book many years ago (when it first came out), and have since read it again. Seeing the way that Special Agent Aldrich was treated by the Establishment press made me understand what a powder keg of a book it really was! Aldrich was easily dismissed then; but I wonder if his revelations would be as easily cast aside now with the impeachment done with, and yet more scandals looming that could cast a pall on Vice President Al Gore's run for the presidency. When I read about the Christmas tree being decorated with drug paraphernalia, and stories about how Clinton administration officials weren't too concerned about finishing their FBI background checks (an absolute requirement designed specifically to weed out those who would do harm to national security). Such things have been the status quo of this particular administration. The way in which Clinton reacted to the Waco siege is particularly brow-raising in view of the evidence that has come out since (the use of flammable CS canisters was STILL not enough to bring about possible punishment of federal officers who allegedly lied about its use during the siege). The reaction by Aldrich to Vincent Foster's supposed suicide is interesting in retrospect as well. Aldrich doesn't have much new to say to that, except when he regards the fact that Foster was not an imbalanced person in his view, and the agent contends that something was not quite right about the president's longtime friend killing himself (reporter Christopher Ruddy ran afoul of Clintonite spinmeisters by maintaining that Foster, indeed, was a victim of foul play. If it was complete tripe, why did Carville and other Clinton godchildren go after him like they did?). I am well aware that the radical egalitarians and/or moral relativists out there will still call this book a piece of trash, and repeat the old mantra "the book a waste of a tree", or some such nonsense. But I wholeheartedly disagree. Aldrich's take on the Clintons (especially Hillary, who would throw a poisonous glance at anyone who dared look at her, or worse yet, say "Good morning!" to her!) is interesting, and presupposes the era of Monica and the subsequent impeachment on grounds of obstruction of justice and witness tampering (not...ahem...just sex...please...). I will add to this that I do think Aldrich wrote the book because he disliked the Clintons, not just because of his conservative leanings, which are very evident. The book is deducted a star because I think it was too much a motivating factor; I would have preferred an expose based solely on what he saw. Keeping this in mind, read the book that first opened the eyes of many who wondered just how far the Clintons could go with the Scandal-of-the-Month administration they created. Yes, folks, character DOES count. This book clearly shows why.
Rating: Summary: The Truth is NOT relative! Review: This book provides every American with the information they need to properly evaluate the situation our country is in. The crimes, immorality, ethical bankruptcy and total disdain for what is right are brought to the forefront in this inciteful and absorbing book. Gary Aldrich gets my vote for American of the decade. How the liberal media has been able to suppress this information is beyond belief. It's about time that decent, hard working, responsible Americans took back our national government. Gary Aldrich makes it perfectly clear what can be expected when today's liberal democrats occupy the highest positions in the land. Once you pick up this book you won't want to put it down. Aldrich presents a clear and total picture of the goings-on in the White House. From a lack of respect for other human beings to illicit and perverse sexual behavior to crimes against the people of the United States, this book tells it all. Find out why so many unbelievable things have happened during the Clinton/Gore administration including outrageous breeches of national security and suspicious deaths. Beyond that, learn the lessons this book presents so that when you go to the polls in 2000 you won't make the same mistake again!
Rating: Summary: Thank You, Thank You, Thank You Review: This book reveals some of the crimes and destruction that the Clinton Administration has done to our federal government. No President in the American history has committed more crimes against humanity than the Clinton Administration.
Rating: Summary: Well, well, well Review: When I read this book several years ago, I said that if even 1/4 of the material printed was true, this country was in a world of hurt regarding moral leadership. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out the direction slick Willy and Hitlery were headed. Gary Aldrich was villified, slammed and basically denounced as a bald-face liar by the liberal (sheeple) media and Clintoon's minions. Even people Aldrich expected to stand behind him turned tail and ran (wow, what guts!). Now after a few years of non-stop Clintoon scandal, the American public is finally waking up to the fact that Mr. Aldrich was right all along - imagine that! If you haven't read this book, I encourage you to pick it up. Hindsight being 20/20, you'll probably feel like it's just a rehash of everything you already know about this administration. But ALWAYS keep in mind that this book was written long before Monica, ChinaGate, fund-raising scandals, etc. etc. etc. ad nauseum. Aldrich laid it all out for us and no one wanted to listen....
