Summary: brilliant and thoughtful
Review: This was another book I had to read for my AP European History class. I guess since I already read Hamilton's "The Greek Way" that the literature wasn't as appealing and interesting. I learned about some Roman writers and other events in Roman history. It's an okay book for getting detailed background on Roman culture, but it isn't the best source of gaining the knowledge and staying awake at the same time!
