Rating: Summary: I generally don't go for books of this type.... Review: But when all things are considered the book is not really that bad, in fact certain quotes are very uplifting. I would rather read this then one of the 5 thousand Chicken Soup for the Souls any day of the week.

Rating: Summary: An Inspiring Journey!! Review: In about 149 pages, the authors of this little book pack a whollop of inspiration and quotes from leaders and visionaires from all walks of life. There are stories of perseverance and sacrifice from sports champions and encouraging quotes from famous writers, philosophers, and other world figures. Plus the authors add their spin to the quotations. Although I recommend the book, I must add a caveat to be careful about "buying into" the theorem of "finding the hero waiting in your heart." That's part of the marketing, naturally, and it appeals to the vanity side of our personalities. Read the quotes with discretion and wisdom. I'd not take all the advice from those in the book, especially Thomas Paine and Marcus Aurelius. Aurelius was responsible for persecuting and killing the early Christians. Not my idea of a hero.
Rating: Summary: A great inspirational book for athletes and non-athletes. Review: This is a great book. It was given to me as a member of the United States delegation at the 1996 Paralympic Games in Atlanta. I stayed up the first night after receiving it and read the entire book. I have read it several times and gete something from it every time. It provides me with the inspiration I sometimes need when I don't feel like training. GREAT BOOK!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Excellent for building character. Mottos for life. Review: This text is excellent for young and old, athlete and non-athlete. "Don't quit" and "character" messages can be applied throughout life.
Rating: Summary: Inspiring and Motivational Review: You can make a significant, positive difference! That's the message of this book. It is filled with quotable insights from a wide variety of sources. "Great success demands great sacrifice" we're told on page 16 and many of these contributors have paid their fair share. This book inspires one to give. We're reminded on page 21 that "Ultimately we are remembered for what we give, not for what we take." In terms of cultivating the relationships in our lives, we're told "The quality of your life is determined by the quality of the people in your life." There are so many good quotes throughout this whole book that it is a delight to go through and try to select a few to give a flavor of what one will find. Consider the quote on page 32, "Everybody works hard when they feel like it, but only the best do it when they don't feel like it." In summary I'd just say "buy it and read it." It's well worth the money and effort.
