Rating: Summary: Every library should include Barbara Michaels Review: read this gem over 15 years ago, it is remains one of my all-time favorites. I have read everything Ms. Michael's has ever written, with the exception of perhaps two of her books, and I have never been dissappointed. Her stories are compelling and gripping without gratuitious sex or violence, and parents, I encourage you to buy these books for your teens. Make sure you read them as well. Ms. Michaels is a consumate story teller and no personal library should be without at least two of her books!
Rating: Summary: Absoloutly amazing, and brilliantly funny. Review: Barbara Michaels' PATRIOT'S DREAM is one of the greatest books of all time. It was especially great for me because I have been to Williamsburg, and I knew a lot of the places she was talking about. This book is truly wonderful, and about as funny as it could possibly get. The way Michael's ends it in Jan's time is great, (thank God she dosn't marry Richard the ignoramous), but the ending in Jonathon's and Charles' time was kind of lacking. Still, it was a GREAT book, and I give it five stars and think that it's better than Michaels' SONS OF THE WOLF, and GRAYGALLOWS, both of which were truly wonderful. For all of Michael's fans, and even for those who aren't, this is a great story mixed with humor, history, and romance, and I recommend it to all! O beautiful for patriots dream, that sees beyond the years; Thine alabaster cities gleam Undimmed by human tears! America! America! May God thy gold refine Till all succes be nobleness! And every gain devine.
Rating: Summary: Confusion in a book Review: I found this book very heavey going, jumping between past and present so often, it kept me from entering into the story line as well I like. I really couldn't stay focused, I was never sure which period in time that I would be dealing with next. The plots weren't clearly drawn and were always changing, I found the heroine to be strange and left wondering who the true hero was.

Rating: Summary: An unforgettable book! Michaels at her best! Review: I have read all of Ms. Michaels' books and this is my favorite. A wonderful heroine, love triangle and the author weaves the present and the past skillfully. The ending will make you cry! I read this book once a year, a must have!
Rating: Summary: good twist at the end Review: i read this book awhile ago and found it to be the best one barbara michaels has written.plus being from virginia helped the stories history become a little more interesting.

Rating: Summary: My favorite MPM book of all Review: Was looking for a new author, "somehow" found this book on the library shelf back in 1976. The twists and turns of this story caught my interest and I have had no problem remaining a totally happy fan of her books(Barbara Michaels/Elizabeth Peters)ever since. Patriot's Dream came out around our country's Bicentennial so had an appropriate theme - American History, with time travel, reincarnation, interesting characters, the works! It is still my most favorite of all her books and would be an good candidate for a tv movie if done right!
