Summary: ~~THIS IS A FUNNY BOOK~~
Review: this book is a very funny book for 2 year olds to 102 year olds, me being a 12 year old girl thought it to be hillarious and had to get it for my neice she absolutly LOVED this book and i think it is a great book that shows the real fact!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Cute & Charming
Review: This book is adorable. Yes, it uses words like "wee wee," but you can simply substitute "your" words for those. And, honestly, at 2 or 3 how sophisticated do you expect your child to discuss her bodily functions? I think it's sweet, the illustration is wonderful. My daughter loves it. It explains body parts in a simple & suitable way. All in all, a very loving, cute, & charming book.

Summary: down with baby talk
Review: This book is awful. Unless you want your child refering to her body parts as 'pee-pee' and saying things like 'wee-wee' and 'poo-poo' stay away from this book! Babies and children would not talk like this if adults did not teach them to! People who do so should hang their heads in shame. Teach your children the correct names for their body parts and they wont grow up so repressed. I couldn't even donate this book to charity for fear soome unsuspecting person might buy it, first I let my youngest use it as a teather and then I pitched it! (...)

Summary: Cute premise, fundamental problems
Review: This book is based on a wonderful idea, but there are some fundamental issues. What would prompt the author to name the little girl Prudence? The text is also awkward and too long in places - my daughter is turning the pages before we finish reading it. Also, the illustrations are still circa-1970 - both graphically and in color choice. My daughter thinks the potty is a big cup, which seems to confuse her more than it helps. I was potty trained in 1972 and even back then my potty chair looked like a potty chair, not a giant coffee cup.

I hope that Frankel will consider updating the key elements of this book to appeal to the modern toddler, though I know the book isn't that old.

And obviously, I am aware that the book was written in the '70s and it is up to me as a parent to help my child learn how to use a potty. My point is that the book would be even better if the problems I pointed out were corrected. We used this book, and an even better one - The Princess and the Potty - which I would recommend over this one for anyone training a daughter.

Summary: Illustrations are hard for young children to decipher
Review: This book is cute. And my 2&1/2 year old daughter likes it. But she had a hard time with the illustraitons of the potty. The potty looks like a coffee mug or spitoon. She kept calling it a cup. It did not help that it wasn't a potty in her mind. The other illustrations are a little tuff too.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: This book was heaven sent with all 3 of our girls. They loved the humor of prudence trying to figure out what the potty chair was exactly! They range in age now from 7-3 and they still read this book. I am expecting our 4th daughter and I am buying a new copy this time since the other is worn out! I highly recommend this book to anyone trying to potty train their daughter.

Summary: I CRIED!
Review: This book was so beautiful! I laughed, I cried! I love this book! I totally reccomend it! I still read it to this day! Every night before I go to bed. (It helps me remember to wipe when I'm done!) :`) < I CRIED! My name is BOTTAY BUTTE

Summary: We loved this book!!
Review: This book was the best gift my daughter has ever gotten. Not only did it help her learn about the body, but it also taught her some of the body parts and what their function is. She didn't seem to care about the outdated pictures, just the story itself. And she asked us to read it over and over. And now-1yr after being completely trained-she still likes to read about Prudence! This book gets totally on a 2yos level. Thank you to Prudence.

Summary: One of my Daughter's Favorite Books
Review: This has been one of my 19 month old daughter's favorite books for a month now. She brings it to me saying "poo-poo" and never tires of hearing the story of Prudence and her potty. We even made the middle part interactive where they question what the potty is; I ask "Is it a...", and she says, "Nooo..." It's just the right length as well.
