Rating: Summary: Compelling. Deep. Moving. Review: I'm 27 and I cannot stop reading this book. Every time I get to the part about the having the "little hole for making Poo Poo" I cry. I mean, cause it's like soooo true. You know? Well, actually it's not, but it may as well be.I've read Nietzsche and a bunch of other "heady stuff" and I'm always left feeling a bit...well, empty. Those guys are missing something. Frankel, on the other hand, nails it. She has really spelled out for us what's truly important to us, as humans, and what isn't. Thank you, Alona. You have changed my life in such amazing ways.
Rating: Summary: My daughter learned to use the potty in 2 weeks Review: It taught my daughtr how to use the potty in 2 weeks
Rating: Summary: not so good Review: my 2 year old just didn't like the book. she didn't stay interested in it at all. it was not helpful for us. it had too many words to read - maybe if you had a older child but for my young one it's just too long
Rating: Summary: My daughter loved this Review: My daughter had the vhs tape, book and a Prudence doll with her own potty. This is a wonderful tool for helping children understand the concept. Also, it seemed that my daughter related to it as well. She'd read the book and place her prudence doll on the potty as she sat on the potty herself. Additionally, she LOVED the video. Especially the end where all of the children sang the potty song. Great product.
Rating: Summary: This book is terrible Review: My daughter received this book on her 2nd birthday from a friend who has 2 children she has potty trained so my husband and I were hopeful that we would have the same success with this book. NO SUCH LUCK. 1st of all, the "wee wee" "poo poo" terminology seems a bit odd to us. 2nd of all, the potty looks like a flower pot or pitcher of some sort, not anything like the baby bjorn potty we bought. In fact, while reading the book to our child for the 1st time we got to the picture of the "poo poo" in the bowl, she got all excited and yelled "ice cream mommy". Lastly, the explanation of the genitals is way overboard for a child this age. We got the baby doll that wets, hopefully it'll give us better results.
Rating: Summary: This book worked for us Review: My daughter was given this book as a gift from her babysitter. We pulled it out when she was 28 month's old. By the end of the month she was fully potty trained. That was two years ago. The book kept her interested in sitting on her potty. It really is a cute book!
Rating: Summary: A favorite in our house. Review: My girls love this book. I bought it with the video when my first daughter was 1.5 to start introducing the idea to her. She loved it. We read it throughout the potty training. My 2.5 year old also loves this book and asks me to read it over and over. We are getting ready to start the potty training soon. Great pictures, simple idea, a classic.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Potty Learning Tool!! Review: My husband and I have no clue as to how to teach potty training to our first child. So, we've spent much money on guides, books, videos, stories, etc. This book (and the video) have made a major break through. My daughter loves the story of Prudence and her potty! With her plethora of videos, she chooses this one to view, and wants to sit on the potty while watching it! Last night (which is why I decided to write a review), my daughter asked to use the potty, and she proceeded to poo. When she was all done, she proudly stood up and announced that she pooped on the potty just like Prudence! Finally we've made a connection!!
Rating: Summary: Potty guide for Toddlers... Review: Simply put, before this book we had difficulty potty training my 2.5 year old daughter. After a few reading of this book, we had a potty breakthrough! My daughter become more comfortable about the potty and all the bodily function associated with it.
Knowledge is power, even for a 2 year old. They have to know what's what on their body and what goes where. This book is extemely helpful in broaching those subject with your toddlers.
If you think this book is too explicit, then God help you when it comes time to talk about sex when your kids get older.
Rating: Summary: My toddler loves this book! Review: This book immediately became my two year old daughter's favorite book. When I started training her we discontinued diaper use except for nap/bed times and used cloth training pants. She started calling herself Prudence when she went to the potty. I think her success has a lot to do with this book/video. If you get the book you should get the video. The "Potty Song" is a real hit in our house.
