Rating: Summary: Mary Higgins Clark: Queen of Suspense Review: It's been a while since I've read this so I can't answer to all the criticism about unpolished writing. The memory that stays with me about this book is the unbearable suspense. I still remember feeling this woman's terror and helplessness at finding history repeating itself in her new life. She's suspected of murdering her children but they couldn't prove it. Now her children are missing again and people are pointing fingers at her again. The villain is truly scary. This was a white-knuckle book. I couldn't put it down.
Rating: Summary: This book was ok then a "couldn't-put-it-down" kind of book. Review: At first I thought that the book was boring but as I read on, I realized that I couldn't put it down. I finished it in two days. The characters weren't as well developed as I'd hoped they would be. The ending wasn't much of an ending and it didn't really leave the reader (me) in wonder. But I do look foward to reading more of her books.
Rating: Summary: Mary Higgins Clark has come a loooooooooong way. Review: I am a huge fan of Mary Higgins Clark, and I have read almost all of her novels. This story has a very compelling plotline, but the development of the characters left me unsatisfied. If this is the first Mary Higgins Clark book you read, remember that she wrote this at the beginning of her career and has nearly perfected the art of writing.
Rating: Summary: good, but could have been a lot better! Review: This book was good, but it was hardly what i would call "well written". It lacked serious description, and good details. A five year old could have writen it. She is defitnely not in Mr. James Patterson's category!
Rating: Summary: Very interesting Review: This is the first of Mary Higgins Clark's that I read, and I was amazed by her ingenious work! I was scared and intersted the time--well, almost the whole time. The reason I gave this only four stars was because this became extremely BORING at some points. I found myself struggling not to skip pages and paragraphs around the middle of the book. But, if you're interested in detail to a precise point, read this. There's also a little problem with the previous case Nancy was inconcerning a comment she made to an electrician or plumber of some sort about the children which may have been tangible evidence and all that...you can see for yourself. Anyway, the descriptive writing style and amazing characterization makes this all worth while.
Rating: Summary: Keep up the stupendous work, Ms. Clark!!!!!!!! Review: Never have I been disappointed with one of MHC'S books, and this was definitely not going to be the first! From the very beginning, you are pulled into the action and identify so well with the characters, you can feel Nancy's emotions when she discovers her children are gone. MHC is an incredibly cunning autor, and to this day, I have not been able to solve any of her mysteries.
Rating: Summary: First and best of all her books. Review: Read and re-read this book. Riviting. A book that you cannot put down. I tell anyone that is starting to read her books to try and find a copy of this book. I have read every novel she has written, but this one is her best.
Rating: Summary: It was great!! Review: It took me only 2 days to read it. I couldn't get my nose out of it!!!!!
Rating: Summary: One of the Best!! Review: This was an awsome book, your on edge at all times,When you figure out where they are you just get into the book even more. I must say this is one of the best books I've read in a long time. :)
Rating: Summary: A slow version of Mary Higgins Clark Review: I am a MHC fanatic!!! This is certainly not one of her best. The only MHC I have read that I was not completely enthralled by
