Rating: Summary: Where are the Children? Review: Hey! I actually enjoyed the book! Sure, it wasn't exactly "intellectually stimulating" or anything, but it WAS well written. I thought that the suspense throughout the book was great. This was definately not Mary Higgins Clark's best novel, but it DID have a intriging, fairly complicated plot.Although the vocabulary was pretty basic, I'm sure that anyone that reads a book as a pass time and for the fun of it would enjoy the book for what it is: a basic mystery novel. Sure its not a great literary classic, and it never will be, but it's still a great read that would appeal to many.
Rating: Summary: A waste of my time Review: As a high school student, I was forced to read this novel in English class. As an avid reader, I like to consider myself capable of determining the quality of reading material. I can easily say that this was one of the worst books I've ever read. The only positive quality this book posesses is the air of suspense it relays to the reader. The novel contained no obvious theme, and definately no underlying themes. The use of any researched vocabulary was non-existant, and the characters were one dimensional and predictable. The book was filled with cliche phrases like "Dear God Priscilla, can't you see that I love you?". I will not recommend this book to anyone with a need for quality writing because you will be thoroughly dissapointed.
Rating: Summary: A Real Page Turner Review: This was a great book about a lady named Nancy that was starting her life all over again with a new husband, two new children, a new look, and a new home. Once I got started in this book it was nearly impossible to put down. There was a lot of suspense throughout the whole book. One reasom I liked the book so much was because the author did not keep the kidnapper unknown throughout the whole book. I would recommend this book to everyone. Even if you do not like reading it is a good book and also easy to read.
Rating: Summary: This was a very shallow read..... Review: Let's make it simple: 290 pages of large font as opposed to 339 pages of small font in Moonlight Becomes you. "Where are the Children" just didn't have the same punch that MHC has had in her previous books. The story line was extremely shallow. I had the villian picked out by the third chapter and had already decided that Nancy must have been drugged during her first marriage. I love MHC's books but this is one that I would not recommend. "Remember Me" is still my MOST FAVORITE of her books. Give that one a try before wasting money on "Where are the Children".
Rating: Summary: This story is about 2 children getting kidnapped. Review: This story was about a lady whose 2 children were kidnapped. This was the second time she had had children kidnapped. Last time her children were found dead by the edge of the ocean. Her ex-husband had framed her so she was charged with 1st degree murder and was sentenced to the gas chamber. But all of the sudden the guy who testified against her disappeared. She changed her idenity and moved. She remarried and once again her children were kidnapped. Read this story to find out if her children were found or not!
Rating: Summary: I loved it! Review: This book was awesome. I loved it so much. I loved the ending of the story where Nancy finds out where the killer is hiding out and then runs to free her children. Mary Higgins Clark is a skillful author. I will enjoy many more of her novels to come!
Rating: Summary: Easy to Read Review: MHC takes individual circumstances and uses them to build the suspense and mystery of her novels. Where Are the Children was easy to read, hard to put down, and full of suspense.
Rating: Summary: This book is really good Review: I thought WHERE ARE THE CHILDREN was a really well put together novel. The only thing I didn't like was that Mary revealed the kidnapper too soon. Everyone knew it was going to be him way before then too! I liked the idea the author had though. It was really exciting and I didn't mind reading it for a book report. I recommend this book to anyone who likes mysterys and suspense.
Rating: Summary: the worst of higgins Review: I have read all of her books and I found this "too light", without much suspense and surprises. Not recommendable at all
Rating: Summary: Non other then simply thrilling! Review: This book was a natural thriller. It sucked me in and I felt like I was one of the charactors and had to help not only the children but Nancy in proving her innocence. Even when I wasn't reading, I constantly found myself thinking about the plot and trying to solve the mystery. The contrast between the charactors was obvious. I often felt chills up my spine when Mr. Parrish entered the story but when Nancy's loving husband Ray was any where near, I felt safe.Mary Higgins Clark at her best!
