Rating: Summary: Where are my children? Review: Mary Higgins Clark's book Where are the Children is an excellent book. It will keep you on the edge of your seat. I however, go annoyed how you would find something out, and then the chapter would change to a different person. This is what kept you hanging, and hungry for more. When I first started reading it, it was confusing. It all comes together though. The three main characters, Nancy, Courtney (guy), and Rob were described well, and fit right into the story. Mary also does a great job of telling the history of Nancy at the very beginning. Nancy is put on trial for the murder of her two children. She gets off because the main witness (Rob) in the case leaves the country. Nancy is now living in Cape Cod with two new children, a new husband, and a new life. When the newspaper comes, the front page is a huge article all about her past. She looks outside. Her children are missing. All that remains is a red mitten worn by her little girl. She becomes the main suspect again. Is Nancy crazy? Or was someone setting her up? Read the book to find that out. I recommend it.
Rating: Summary: An intelligently written book. Review: I think Mary Higgins Clark was at her best with this book; Where Are the Children. It was well written, and it kept me thinking constantly throughout the book. She made the story seem so realistic by letting the characters feelings and emotions relate to what other people in the same circumstances would have felt like. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was very descriptive about what was happening to the characters. Mary Higgins Clark makes reading enjoyable and relaxing. I did find the book a little hard to follow in the beginning, but the rest of the book made up for it. So, I decided to give Where Are the Children 5 stars. It was about a lady named Nancy Eldredge and her family. She was married to Carl Harmon and had two children, Peter and Lisa. She was very happy, and then one day her children disappeared. Her children were found dead and Nancy was framed for the murders. During the trial her husband and closest friend went against her. She decides to start a new life, and so she changed her appearance. She moved to Cape Cod and married Ray Eldredge, so that she could try to get rid of her horrible memories from the past. Nancy and Ray had two children named Mike and Missy, who were helping her move on with her life. Just when her life is going the way she wanted it to, Mike and Missy disappeared, leaving nothing but a little red mitten as a clue for the police to follow. Nancy couldn't remember much from the day her kids disappeared, so the police thought that it was her again. Will Nancy be committed for the crime again, or will it be someone else this time? The book has a very surprising ending. Read the book to answer all of the puzzling questions, and to find out what happens to Nancy and her family. In my opinion it's a book well worth reading.
Rating: Summary: Predictable Review: This book was well written in that the dialogue was good and the descriptions were not too long and easy to visualize. It was very predictable, a couple of chapters into the book I already knew where the children were and with who. Also it was a very unsurprising ending. When she describes the house the children are going to be in, you can easily figure out where the climax of the book is going to take place and what will happen there. Also it was very annoying how she made some characters out to be more than they needed to be, for example Bernie Mills. We didn't need to hear about his family and how he wanted to tell his wife all about what was going on. This definitely is not Mary Higgins Clark's best book. It would only seem interesting and surprising to a pre teen kid.
Rating: Summary: Where Are the Children? Review: This is the best book that I have read by Mary Higgens Clark. It is full of suspense and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end! You will sympathize with Nancy Eldredge as she stands accused of the unthinkable - the cause of the disappearance of her children. Nancy and her husband ray have two children, Mike & Missy. She seemed to have the picture perfect life. When the children are missing, Nancy is devastated. Or is she? Seven years earlier, Nancy Harmon was found guilty of the murder of her children, Peter and Lisa. She was so hated by the public that she changed her appearance and changed her name. Is history repeating itself? You will not be able to put this one down until you find out!
Rating: Summary: Where are the Children? Review: This boook is called "Where are the Children" by Mary Higgins Clark. The publisher is "Dell Publishing CO. INC.". The price of this book is $7.99. "Where are the Children?" is a chilling mystery. It takes place on Cape Cod and the main character is Nancy, a stay at home mom. Many years ago Nancy was accused of murdering her two missing children. ONce she was set free from trial she moved and started a new family and had two more kids. When these children go missing the story takes you on a whinding twists and turns as police try to find the children and find the killer. Nancy goes through hard questioning which forces her to confess all of her darkest secrets. But the many people involved with the case only have little time because who knows who could have the children now. I loved this book because at times you thought you knew who had taken the children but then later you get completly thrown off track. This story kept me reading for hours at a time. I would reccomend this book to anyone who is looking for a good reading that hooks you on the first page and keeps you hanging until the very end.

Rating: Summary: BRAVO, MHC! ::::applause:::::: Review: I wanted to avoid the description of "it's a real page-turner," but that is so fitting that I have to use it. Mary Higgins Clark has been blessed with a gift of storytelling so descriptive that you might almost feel that you are within the story ... feeling the chill of the Cape Cod winter, or wanting to jump in and defend the book's main character. This book will truly keep you in suspense until the very end.
Rating: Summary: Better Then All Around The Town Review: I like Mary Higgins Clark and I think Where Are The Children though far from her best book is okay and a lot better then All Around The Town because it's not as depressing or creepy!
Rating: Summary: Only Read If You Can Keep Up With The Suspense! Review: I have heard that Mary Higgins Clark is a very good author. Although this is the first book that I have read of hers, I totally agree with the rumors that I heard. Where Are The Children is an extremely enjoyable thriller. There wasn't one moment that I wasn't deeply focused in the mystery. The irony of the plot is amazing; the fact that Nancy Harmon's two children get kidnapped and killed once, and then her new two children get kidnapped is mind blowing. The irony also adds to the suspense because throughout the whole book you wonder if the same thing is going to happen to her new children, and you don't find out until the end; and believe me you'll want to finish the book even if you're not interested in it just to see the outcome.
Rating: Summary: Mary Higgins Clark simply doesn't dissapoint Review: On her birthday, Nancy Harmon's children disappear, later to be washed up on the shore in California. She is accused of murdering her children, although it is never proven. A key witness has disappeared. To top it off, her husband commits suicide over his grief at the loss of their children. It is seven years later. Nancy has relocated to Cape Cod, changed her identity, remarried to a wonderful man, with whom she has two beautiful children. Today is Nancy's birthday. She has sent her children out to play. The paper boy delivers the local paper. Nancy opens the paper and is stunned to find, plastered all over the local section of the paper, her picture and all of the incriminating details of the murders of her previous two children. Nancy rushes out to the back yard to gather her children and bring them back into the house, only to find them missing! I have read several of Mary Higgins Clark's books and have enjoyed them all, But this one kept me up into the wee hours of the morning, reading and turning pages as fast as I could. A number of Clark's books have been made into TV movies, and this one just begs to be a movie! I recommend this book highly to anyone who enjoys the thriller/murder mystery genre of books. One word of warning: this book deals with the subject of pedophilia, so may not be recommended for everyone.
