Summary: This book kept me reading until I finished it.
Review: This book was great.Next to Jaws.Instead of another big shark or squid Benchley puts his mind to work and creates a very creative monster.Half-man and half shark.I loved when the kid was eaten.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Cool!
Review: This Benchley thriller will scare you if you scare easily. Its about a genetic experiment from WWII loose in New England, and, as usual, the only ones who can stop it are an unlikely cadre of characters such as a marine biologist, an Indian, another marine biologist, the first marine biologist's son, a deaf girl (is she totally deaf or just hard of hearing?) and a bunch of expendable sea lions. Cool, but unlikely.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Good summer reading, you bet!
Review: The Benchley novel was more than I hoped for. The only part a little hard to swallow was the genetic experimentation, otherwise it was great. I also enjoyed Benchley's characterization of the Great White Shark (not the monster, the actual shark) as a "hero" of sorts. Read this book!

Summary: I rather swim with Jaws then the WHITE SHARK
Review: Mr. Peter Benchley has proven his self with terrors like Jaws and Beast. But his [Benchley] new White Sharks (this shark is not real, sorry to disappoint you, but this sharks doesn't play around) is a none stop eating thing. More detail then any other Benchley's novels. Under water terror fans will not be disappoined.

Summary: Peter Benchley's White Shark-Is it worth taking a bite?
Review: Duh dum...duh dum... Just when you finished 'Beast' and wondered if Peter Benchley knew how to write anything else but sea tales of monsters and scantily clad swimmers comes his latest, 'White Shark'. This book is a cautionary tale about what happens when you mix early Nazi experiments in genetic engineering ('Vee vill mix man and the shark and together vee shall rule the world!') and a small waterfront community. If this smacks of similarities between 'Jaws', a cautionary tale of what happens when you mix hungry shark with a small waterfront community and 'Beast', a cautionary tale about a hungry squid and...you get the idea...you've stumbled upon the first problem with Benchley's tale. We've been here before and halfway through the novel, you start to wish for something different. It isn't that Benchley doesn't try hard. Many paragraphs have an air of suspense to them, especially the ending climactic scenes. However, far too often, it is simply a whiff of what could be rather than a match for some of Benchley's better work. Go read 'Jaws' again if you want a taste of true thrill fiction.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A Strangely Interesting Read
Review: Peter Benchley has written a strangely interesting book here in which the impossible seems possible. While the story seems to begin a bit slow, there is no doubt that the reader quickly finds themself on a power dive into action. Benchley also does a great job adding some animal awareness messages to the reader. Well done.

Summary: This book with have you chilled to the bone!!!!
Review: The book is better than Beast and Jaws. It will chill you to the bone. Plus it will make you read it over and over again. The main character whose a sailor, a indian, the main character's son, a scientist, and a deaf girl try to stop the beast. When your done with it you'll be shaking with fright. You'll also think danger is around the next corner. I would definitely add this book to my shopping car

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Don't fear the shark this time
Review: I'll admit. I bought this book because I thought it was his own sequel to Jaws. But I like how he made the shark to seem more like an amazing creature than a cold-blooded killer. Sometimes when I was reading this book I wondered if Benchley was in his right mind. His image of a remarkable man-made weapon is extraordinary. I read this book in two days. I literally could not put it down (sorry Dee for not paying attention to you). I've read it twice since then and every time I love it. I think I just might go read it again. You can't ask for a better book!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: The best ever by Peter Benchley
Review: This is one of the greatest books I've ever read! A man-made monster is out in the water of a bay. Only one marine biologist has an idea about what might be happening. There's many deaths, and many surprises to keep you on the edge of your seat for the whole book! If you've read Jaws or The Beast, you'll love this one. Who'll survive? Find out by getting White Shark, by Peter Benchley. I can guarentee you'll love it.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Not Jaws!
Review: A little different from Benchley previous books. The story deals with a man-made sea creature. The plot keeps you on your toes. Dean Koontz fans would enjoy this one.
