Summary: Not as good as the others, but worth the read
Review: I'm not a big fan of Kevin J. Anderson (I tried reading "Jedi Search" but just couldn't get into it, partially because I felt that the story moved along too slowly) though I was able to get through "Darksaber." Anderson seems to rely more on the interesting little details of the story's elements without constructing a strong foundation to lay those elements on. "Special effects is a tool, a means of telling a story. Special effects without a story is a pretty boring thing." Also, things tend to be contrived as opposed to coming about naturally, such as the manner in which the evil Hutt meats his end (an error made by one of the characters as opposed to a choice). A couple of the book's strong points include Luke and Callista's visit to Dagobah and the battle between Imperial forces and the Jedi students. "Darksaber" manages to be enjoyable.

Summary: Stamp out one-armed wampas in your lifetime
Review: *Darksaber* really makes one question whether Kevin J. Anderson should have been given the SW universe at all. His ridiculous and implausible usage of plot devices such as the one in the subject line, his tedious repetition of the exact same descriptions every three pages or so (a tribute to his infamous "write-by-dictation" method) and his complete massacre of the character Callista stand out as the trio of low points in what is unarguably the worst single post-ROTJ SW novel outside of *Cyrstal Star.*

Summary: Yeaach.
Review: Darksabre was as bad as the Jedi Academy trilogy. I mean, come on, KJA goes to the trouble of writing a book only to fill it with boring ideas of superweapons, and vile gangsters. Talk about beating a dead horse. Listen to the names, there's nothing to them: "Darksabre", "Sun Crusher". I wonder how KJA thought of these. Did he ask the first 2 year old he saw?? What should I call a thing that kills suns? A sun-crusher! What should I call a long saber-like superweapon?? A darksaber!! Give it a rest, KJA. Maybe you need another superweapon that is a sphere and runs into things... you can call it the Evil Sphere. Hell, make Luke lose his Jedi powers to top it off (but that's another complaint). I liked the Illustrated Universe you did, and the comics for that matter. But these books are just not doing anything for the SW universe except regurgitating old ideas and plotlines. The ideas in the book all have some child-like appeal, which apparently people have mistaken for good space drama. Read Zahn's books if you want an example of a good SW book. The cover even sucks on this one.

Summary: Well.....
Review: First of all, there are to many story lines. second of all, if one jedi can repel a 17 star destroyer attack force then why don't they just do it every time there is a fight? and the whole focus was supposed to be a new superweapon (BORING) witch ended up not working and geting destroyed by asteroids. alo i didn't like the way big capitol ships were treated like starfighters.

Summary: Anderson Perhaps Best Star Wars Imagineer
Review: This was one of my favorite single novels in the Star Wars saga. Anderson and Zahn are the most talented web spinners of this series and it shows in Darksaber. A MUST READ for every Star Wars fan.

Summary: Darksaber
Review: It is great. It has a LOT of space battles. If you like space battles get this one. A hutt, like Jabba the hutt, but his name is Derga, builds a super weapon that has a super laser like the Death Star but without the girders around it and it is called the darksaber. He hopes to cotrol the Galaxy, but the New Republic is in the way. Things with Luke are not easy either. His beloved girlfreind cannot use the force, but when he come back from a trip with his girlfreind he finds that Dallas force, 18 star destroyers, are attacking the Jedi academy. Will the accademy servive? Will the New Republic servive a fight with Derga's darksaber?

Summary: K.J.A has made on hell of a book. Darksaber is the best
Review: I have read all the SW books, but I have to say that this is one of the best. When you read it, you actually hope that the Empire will win. The book features Luke, Han, Leia, Chewi etc. And Grand Admiral Thrawn's right hand: Pallaeon. He and Admiral Daala is joining forces and want's to destroy the Jedi Acadamy on Yavin 4. If you are a SW fan, read this book.

Summary: Some good ideas that never quite fuse together
Review: DARKSABER has some fine moments and care has gone into MOST of it. I'm going to write this next line so as not to spoil, but when two certain Jedi are surrounded by villians but still not undetected, why the hell do they start a rumble with all of them instead of clouding those weak-minds and slipping out of there? Lemelisk is written well, and the reader will also learn more about the Hutts, Sand People and a few other peripheral characters. But the story is sketchy at best; I agree with those that say this deadly- superweapon-every-book stuff is very old (in this one even a character thinks it!!!!)

Summary: Cat-lovers forget about this book
Review: In a major part of this book all that happens is that everyone almost dies, and the best two characters, as well as others, do--the two Cathars (Anderson is NOT writing for cat-lovers)--and the worst character has to be one of the only two that survive (Callista). If you bought this book, you might be able to get trade credit at a used book store.

Summary: Second only to Shadows of the Empire
Review:

Darksaber is one of the greatest Star Wars bokks ever, and it is only bested by Shadows of the Empire. Kevin J. Anderson is my favorite Star Wars author. His Star Wars novels make great reads because they are well done , very fast paced, and next to imposible to put down. A must read for Star Wars fans.
