Rating: Summary: A Fabulous Read Review: This was my first experience with reading a Jayne Ann Krentz novel and found it to be the most enjoyable reading experience I've had in a long time. The characters were each remarkable in their own right and the cutting edge wit just added to the enjoyment. I'm definitely going to look for her other books.
Rating: Summary: Eclipse Bay Review: First in a trilogy and I can't wait for the other two. The Hartes and the Madisons have bad blood between them for generations. Here come Rafe and Hannah. Kind of Romero and Juliet without them having to die. Funny and romantic and a must to read.
Rating: Summary: Krentz does it again Review: Jayne Ann Krentz must have a great sense of humor and adventure. All of her books have those quirky characters that no one takes seriously but ends up saving the day. There's the original bad boy who falls for the good girl. The Hartes and the Madisons are families that have been feuding for over a generation. The old aunt of the Harte clan knows that the feud should end and she knows just what to do. She wills her home to Hannah Hartes and Rafe Madison knowing that they are today's Romeo and Juliet without the tradegy of Shakespere. Add to the story an unexplained death and you have the winning formula of Krentz. Read this book it'll keep you laughing.
Rating: Summary: If a trashy novel is what you're looking for, go elsewhere!! Review: I picked this book to take with me on my summer vacation because I wanted a light read and the reviews seemed to be wonderful. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. This book even failed as a light read!! Honestly, if you are looking for a fun, trashy romance novel to pass the time then try something by another author. I don't usually read these kind of books, but I know a good one when I see one and this wasn't good. As a matter of fact, I hope the author was only trying to write a trashy novel when she wrote 'Eclipse Bay'. If she was trying to write something more serious, I would be astonished. You will find it insulting. The characters are superficial and predictable, the plot is laughable and the writing is horrendous. Also, you will notice that every other page contains the phrase, "But I'm a Harte and you're a Madison and it could never work....". PLEASE!!! Do people actually read this stuff and call it literature??
Rating: Summary: Suspense and Romance Review: This is my first Jayne Ann Krentz novel but it will not be my last. I enjoyed the romance, the intrigue and the wonderfully unusual characters, especially the grandfather. Rafe's bad boy reputation made him an exciting, dangerous hero. This is a great summer read, by the beach or by the pool. It is fun and enjoyable. I await the next installment of this trilogy anxiously.
Rating: Summary: Eclipse Bay a great book Review: I will have to say this will be one of my favorite books. I have never read any of Jayne Ann Krentz books, but I will now. She is a very captivating author. I can't wait until the other two in the series come out.
Rating: Summary: Still JAK Review: It's still the same old Jayne Ann Krentz formula but this one is markedly better than some of her recent offerings. JAK has always been one my favorites but there have been times when it seems like she's just re-writing the same plot over and over. This one has familiarity but it's definitely a better book than Soft Focus or Sharp Edges. This one has a good heroine and hero. Through they don't break the JAK mould they make the reading experience enjoyable.
Rating: Summary: tiresome Review: The book description has been previously stated. I have refrained from purchasing a JAK novel for a while as I found them to be repetitive and frustrating. I read this one because I thought it might be different given it was the beginning of a trilogy. BUT, alas, I did not enjoy it very much. The romance part of the book seemd so uninspired, I just did not buy that the main characters felt any true deep and abiding passion for each other. Their love scenes seemed automatic and when they were done they both hopped out of bed to do their seperate things. And the scene where they were talking about their feelings for each other was dropped half way and never really completed. I enjoyed Rafe, though he was hardly a bad boy. Hannah really bugged, I found her way too uptight. I would say the top 3 weaknesses were the lack of passion and emotion in the relationship, the ENDLESS references to "Don't blame me , I'm a Harte.." or "What do you expect from a Madison..." Every page had two such sentences it seemed. Relent, I beg you! We get it!! And finally the dropped threads of these characters backgrounds, what happened to the fiance and ex-wife? The personal details were all very slap dash. I hope JAK takes the time to craft the next in the series with a little more detail to and love for the MAIN CHARACTERS. Bottom line? I did not feel the love.
Rating: Summary: Eclipse Bay Review: I'm down to the last few pages and cannot put it down. I logged on to amazon to see when the next book in this trilogy will be out. It held my interest and Rafe and Hannah have heat. I agree with one of the other reviews, the grandfather is a trip. This is a book to enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Super suspenseful book Review: Jayne Ann Krentz is my favorite author and she didn't let me down with this book. Great characters, solid romance, and just enough mystery to keep things interesting.
