Rating: Summary: Not my type of book Review: I have to say that I read this book very quickly because I wanted to see how it would end. Had I known there was going to be sexual violence in it, I certainly wouldn't have read it. I know it's fiction but still, it is very far-fetched. Everytime something happened to the "heroine" I kept thinking "oh not again!"... the bad things kept happening and happening and it was like "oh, just get ON with the story please". Really, if you want to read a mystery, read Agatha Christie. No sex, no violence just classic mystery.
Rating: Summary: WOW!! Review: I ordered this book from a book club back in high school, and I'm still not sick of it! (I read it at least twice a year) It was the first Catherine Coulter book I read, and I was immediately hooked! I recently read the rest of the series from the library, and while they were also awesome, this is still my favorite. I loved Sally and Quinlan; they were two of the best fiction characters I've ever read. The ending really creeped me out-who would have imagined?? But enough about that-if I say anymore I'll give it away... if you haven't read this book, it's a MUST-HAVE!!
Rating: Summary: I Wasn't Impressed Review: I love to read the historical-romance novels written by Catherine Coulter, but my advise is to skip the mytsteries. The Cove was predictable, and left me sorry I'd wasted the time and money.
Rating: Summary: New Fan of Catherine Coulter Review: I am new to the world of Catherine Coulter. Her FBI series is terrific!! As a child, I always loved "Hardy Boys" and "Nancy Drew" mysteries. Catherine Coulter has taken the twists and surprises of good old fashion suspense and added just the right touch of sex, romance, and the unfortunate evil that actually exists today. I, like so many other readers, have raced out to find the treasure of books that Cahterine Coulter has produced. In addition to "The Cove", I also have "Impulse, The Target" and "The Maze" in paperback. I couldn't wait for the paperback and just purchased "Hemlock Bay" in hardcover. Thank you Catherine Coulter for getting me started reading books again after 20 years.
Rating: Summary: I read The Maze Review: and had to read the others in this series. Very much enjoyed the charachters of Dillon, Quinlan and Sally. I am giving this book 4 stars because I find the violence disturbing at times. I couldn't even get through "Beyond Eden".
Rating: Summary: The Cove Review: I thought the book was outstanding. After I read it, I went out and bought the Edge, Target, Impulse, the maze, False Pretenses, Eden..and all of the rest of the mysteries that I have left out...I wasn't disappointed by a single one. I can't wait for Hemlock Bay on Monday. I thought her writing was awsome, the characters were great..and the story lines for all kept me hooked...Oh, please keep writing these types of stories..
Rating: Summary: One of the best books I've read in a while. Review: I normally don't read lovey-dovey books, but my sister said I would like it and I sure did! A lot of thrills, chills and love in the air. Just when you think you have it figured out...you don't. I recommend it highly.
Rating: Summary: The Cove is a real page turner Review: This book was quite good, and very hard to put down. Half-way through the book, I remember thinking I was almost to the end because the action had picked up so much, only to find out I was meerly half way! This has non-stop action and quite a twist at the end. An Excellent Read!
Rating: Summary: good mystery Review: The book definatly grabs you from the begining. You want to know what the deal is with this girl Sally. But once you get to the town you turn your focus on it. You wonder what all these old people are up to. And why they are so wary of having this new girl in town. It was definatly a page turner but at times it became predictable. Like when you think they can finally relax and the danger is over and nope more comes. It can get old.
Rating: Summary: A Really Good Read Review: Catherine Coulter is a master at blending alittle romance in with a great mystery. For those of us who prefer mystery and tend to avoid purely romance, she bates you with the mystery plot and out of nowhere hooks you with alittle romance after you're already too into the book to put it down. While I pass over her purely romance books, I love her mysteries because the romance never overtakes the plot. Great book!
