Summary: A Suspenseful and Well Written Thriller
Review: It has become a cliche to describe a book as a "page turner". However, I can think of no better term to describe Phillip Margolin's, Wild Justice. Once I picked this book up, I was truly unable to put it down. Although I have noticed that all of the other reviewers of this book have described the plot in detail, I will not. Part of the excitement of this book is watching the plot unfold and any decription will lessen that effect. This book is an exciting read and is actually quite scary at times. Any past readers of Margolin's work will not be disappointed and first time readers will become instant fans.

Summary: Wild Ride
Review: I really enjoyed this wild ride of a thriller! I did not want to put it down. The characters were well drawn and believable. Many times I had to stop and wait for my heart to slow down, before I could go on. I am glad that the book came out now, in the summr. It was a great read for a day at the beach. I am not so sure that I could have read it as quickly as I did, if it were a cold dark winter's day or night.

Summary: Margolin is still the man!
Review: It never takes long to read a Phillip Margolin novel, and this one is certainly no exception. He, like Tom Savage, is the master of the twist at the end. Just as impressive, however, is the simple fact that Margolin's stuff is hard to put down. Wild Justice is no exception. I'm learned never to try and figure out what the author's going to do. Similar to watching a good movie, perhaps it's best just to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Summary: Entertaining, but nothing special or unique.
Review: This is a perfectly adequate thriller, guaranteed to be a one-night read, with it's short chapters and many plot twists and turns. If that's what you're looking for (and I was when I read it) I recommend this one. However, if you're looking for a thriller that breaks new ground by introducing unique characters, you won't find it here. There is the obligatory beautiful/smart/reckless/young heroine and several evil/smart/ruthless/possible-sociopathic-serial-killers, and several points in the book when ALL the clues point to a new and different possible-sociopathic-serial-killer, but there is nothing to set this this thriller apart. It seems as if the characters have been created from a formula that too many writers in this genre have used.

Summary: He'ssssssss back!
Review: Margolin is back with another wonderful thriller. This author takes the "mystery/thriller" to the limit and this book is no exception. A great read to the end with lots of twists and turns. We start with a series of killings in the woods. A local surgeon (who is absolutely loathsome) is seen as a likely suspect. He engages the services of successful attorneys Carodoni and his daughter Amanda. From the get go, Amanda is not comfortable with the whole situation and doesn't like her client. Things only get worse from there... Absolutely fast paced and exciting reading. Just when you think you have it all figured out, the author takes yet another turn and you are not so sure anymore. This is a complex, churning and very challenging story that will keep you guessing until the last page. I recommend this one!

Summary: Finally, Margolin is back on his game!
Review: I've read Margolin's books since I came across 'The Burning Man' but I've been sorely disappointed by every one of them since because they have never approached the power or the storytelling of that book. While this one is very much different than 'The Burning Man', it is a great page turner. I found the story to be inventive, if not twisted. Although, I figured out who the killer was with about 100 pages to go, there were so many plot twists that I doubted my conclusion several times. The ending was tension-filled and full of poetic justice. I'll be reading more.

Margolin does a great job all around on this one. The characters are interesting, the villains are despicable, and the suspenseful plot keeps you guessing until the unforgettable ending.

Summary: Summer Suspense
Review: I heard Philip Margolin at a University of Toronto suspense author's night, and went out afterwards to check out his works. The guy is on his tenth book, which in itself is a feat. I read part of his current one (Sleeping Beauty) and he read from this, but I'll give it a miss. I picked up a couple of his paperbacks though and Wild Justice is the first one I read. It is a page-turner. The ending became obvious mid way through the book, and the story was less plausible than I'd like, but by the time you realized that, the hook was in. I'll probably read a few of his others.
