Summary: The Makings of a Great Story...
Review: ...but only the makings.

(Contains Spoilers)

It had all the components: a tall dark and handsome (and part Native American, to boot) hero, an extended family with history, the heroine has their child out of wedlock--when he comes back: will he learn about their child, will they fall in love?

But frankly the story didn't grab me. In fact, I was almost bored.

I am always one for elucidating a story and the relationships. But the author could've took a page from her colleagues book by telling the heroine's situation in flashback: how she lost her first love, met the heroine, got with child, etc. Instead all these components were written in painstakingly boring detail. Also, the heroines' persistent whining over her dead fiance 5+ years later (who we never got to meet so couldn't share in the joy) was nauseating.

Not one character grabbed my interest. The hero--the former department of treasury investigator (for God's sake)--was dull. And so was the child. And so was the father, the brother, the sister-in-law, and uncle. The only person who was interesting was Rollie, and that's because we never knew if underneath the badness exterior he had a heart.

So in short, if you were thinking of putting this on your book list, don't. YOu could daydream and Janet Dailey can write a better story than this.

Summary: I am the biggest fan ever!
Review: All of the Calder books intice me! I never read any book clear through until I read "This Calder Sky" the first Calder book! I have every Calder book. Once I start reading these books I literaly never want to put them down! I have not found any Calder book that did not completely capture my attention! I wish this set would continue on forever! I do not want to have to try to find other books to read, because no book can compare to the Calder books! I am fifteen years old and my mom got me started reading these books! That is the best thing my mom has ever done for me! There are no words to explain how happy I get reading these books.

Summary: Entertaining
Review: Cat lost her true love at the young age of 20. Feeling lonely she meets a stranger who reminds her of her lost love and ends up with a night of passion. Not knowing who each other is they go their seperate ways. Five years later, Cat has a beautiful son and no husband. Enter the new sheriff, who wants his son. This story has all the twists and turns as the previous Calder series books. It was nice revisiting the family that won our hearts.

Summary: Great read
Review: Great story. I relish the parts where Logan finally knew that Quint is his son, his 're-acquaintance' with his son... it's very touching.

Dailey managed to inculcate in me this irritation towards the Andersons, especially towards Emma Anderson, whose misguided love for her sons made them very unmanageable.

Great story.

Summary: Calder Pride
Review: Having read the other Calder stories, I felt this one lacked the character depth of the previous stories. It's obvious that another book is due out regarding Ty & Jessy Calder as neither character developed well in this part of the saga. I wonder when the next will be and if it will tie all the loose threads left by Calder Pride. ie. The results of those shot: Ty, Cully, and Rollie; The birth of Ty & Jessy's child; Sally & Chase's relationship; Emma's part in the kidnapping, etc.

Summary: What can I say? She's done it again - another classic!
Review: I absolutely loved this book. I reread the first four books (third time I have read them) and found them to be just as captivating this time as the first. Janet is my favorite author and I hope she will continue writing. but do it more frequently than she has these last few years. I hope Calder Pride is not the last in this series - I just hope it isn't years before we see it. Janet is the best western/ranch/romance writer ever and I hope she never retires. Another wonderful book!

Summary: A GREAT READ
Review: I agree with the reader from Lakeland, TN. this is a wonderful book. Janet Daily has stayed true to her characters. The plot was engrossing .I have read all the other books in the. series. I LOVE THEM ALL!

Summary: Not the best Calder series
Review: I didn't like Cat's character very much even though Dailey protrayed her a strong woman. I thought she was a bit spoiled and selfish. She did not deserve Logan's love. I thought Logan, Chase, and Quint were great characters. I look foward to her next series.
