Summary: A great introduction to the field
Review: I highly recommend this audio book to those wanting to understand the emerging science of complex adaptive systems. It is more than the best of a good series on the history of science. I especially enjoyed the discussion what the acceptance complex adaptive systems as a legitimate area of scientific inquiry means to our concept of science and to scientific methodology. Over the years I've given away at least half a dozen of these tapes to philosophers, scientists, and educated laymen. Without exception, they have been impressed with its quality and clarity.
