Summary: Kerik's Amazing Life
Review: Reading Bernard Kerik's autobiography strengthened my resolve in wanting a life in law enforcement. Kerik's story is truly amazing, and anyone who didn't take something with them after reading this book, just wasn't paying attention.

Summary: Fascinating
Review: Wow, does this guy exemplify the American Dream; rising up from the most terrifying and humbling experiences, & learning from those experiences to become the man of integrity he is today. I wish I could say I had a job I felt so passionate about. NYC should be glad he does.

Summary: Real men are made of this!
Review: Kerik's "The Lost Son", reads like a novel but it is the real, honest to goodness, true story of a man's journey to find himself. It is not only the account of a brave cop who climbs up the ranks to become one of the most notorious commisioners of New York; but it is the acount of a man who is so brutally honest that he allows the reader to intimately share the pain of the journey of reliving his difficult childhood and the search for his mother's killer.

"The Lost Son" is about the stuff that real men are made of. It is about the stuff that we need more men to be made of: integrity, honesty, compassion, a passion for justice and indomitable courage!

Read it first and then buy a copy for all the significant males in your life.

Summary: Lost son is excellent!
Review: I just finished this book. I was very impressed with it. I thought it was very interesting and well written. I now have a newfound respect for the police. But Bernie Kerick is the most brave man I think I have ever read about. His writings show how he is just as human as you and I , but also shows all of the amazing heroic things that he has accomplished throughout his life. I see him as a person that everyone who reads this book, can look up to and respect. He is not afraid to show his "soft side" nor is he afraid to say that at times he was "afraid". But he continues to do amazing thing, after thing for NYC. I can only put the book down and shake my head in astonishment.

Summary: Great book on leadership!
Review: Not only is this a gripping story about Bernard Kerik, it has also been an incredible inspiration to me and great lesson in leadership. Kerik's work ethic and drive make him a role model worthy of an autobiography. This book should be given to anyone you know in whom you see leadership potential. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: WISH THERE COULD BE A SECOND BOOK....
Review: I TOTALLY ENJOYED READING THIS FASANATING BOOK BY BERNARD KERIK. IT ESPECIALLY HIT HOME AS I GREW UP IN THE PASSAIC/CLIFTON AREA AND MY FATHER IS A RETIRED PASSAIC FIRE FIGHTER. IT WAS SO INSPIRING TO READ WHAT OBSTACLES MR KERIK HAD TO OVERCOME AND SEE HIM DEVELP INTO SUCH AN OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUAL AND WITH SUCH A HUMBLE ATTITUDE. nO MATTER THERE FAULTS, HE HAS CERTAINLY INHERITED THE BEST QUALITIES OF HIS MOTHER AND FATHER!

Summary: NEW YORK'S BRAVEST!
Review: I enjoyed reading about Bernard B. Kerik. He is a amazing person
who has done so much for New York City. When I first started
seeing him was on tv,when the awful day of September 11, 2001 happened. When I saw him on tv, I was amazed on how he could go thru those long hours of a day in press conferences and be in
the middle of the tragedy. When I read about his childhood, I was proud on how he handled his life. It's so amazing how he ended up being the person he is today. I hope Barnard Kerik in the future writes a second book about his life and tells more about his family. I also learned that cops are our hero's and they need more credit for what they do for us. They protect us
and some die for us.

Summary: Lost Son is a MUST READ
Review: As a retired Firefighter and son-in-law of a career Mounted Police Officer, I give this book 5 stars+++!!!
It's a no-gloves, bare-knuckle look at life, service, dedication, work ethic and leadership. The book reads like you were riding in the car on a long trip, just listening to Mr. Kerik tell his story. You can feel his passion for life on every page. Instead of using a troubled childhood life as an excuse to whine and look for sympathy and handouts Mr Kerik used it as a platfrom to spring from and excel in life. Don't buy just one copy, buy one for each person on your gift list and share this wondeful experience.

Summary: Inspiring autobio that kept me reading!
Review: Bernie Kerik's autobiography is a story of a role model who has refused to let himself become victimized by his tormented past and turbulent family history. He isn't the best writer in the world, but he knows how to tell a story--namely his own--with captivating detail and emotion. He tells his story with both toughness and compassion, the same traits that saved him during his neglected childhood and rocky adulthood. By the end of the book (before the epilogue, which relates his perspective of the events of September 11 in harrowing detail), I felt happy for him that he had learned to reconcile his troubled emotions over his past with maturity, dignity, and bravery.

If this book has a weak point (other than at-times inconsistently-toned writing), it is that he sometimes indulges in tooting his own horn a little too often. Given his accomplishments, though, I can forgive this by saying, good for him--we need more role models in our society like him!
