Summary: Tom sings TO kids, not AT them.
Review: Our family has worn out this item twice on tape. Tom Chapin, brother of my generation's beloved Harry Chapin (singer of "Taxi"), sings kid songs that adults can relate to. Not the usual repetitive chants that toddlers love, but older kids, from about 8, like these tunes about real things happening to real kids (Neat Mess, Trail Ride), plus a bit of fantasy (Moonboat). The music is singable but not annoyingly stick-in-your-brainy. And every Tom Chapin work I've owned has at least one lullabye that your kids will love hearing and you'll love singing. I have to get my Tom Chapin on CD because we wear them out so fast on tape.
