Rating: Summary: A great start Review: "COMMON SENSE SOLUTIONS is not a cure-all for mankind's social ills, nor is it intended to be. The author by no means expects everyone to agree with all he says. But it does provide a platform to begin discussions that could lead to solutions for many social problems that exist today. J. D. Williams attacks some very controversial issues, items that have been a hotbed of political debate for many years. They are also issues that will not go away until a tenable solution can be found. If we all pool our common sense, we might be able to come up with those solutions. Among the issues Dr. Williams discusses are: religious truth, the death penalty, abortion, smokers' rights, gay rights, political honesty, and free speech. There are other, equally touchy subjects to which he has applied his common sense. Dr. Williams stated that he wrote COMMON SENSE SOLUTIONS to create a starting point for rational discussion on some hot topics. In this endeavor, his book is an outstanding success. Now, it is up to the rest of us to read his solutions and add our own common sense. Then, by listening to each other and through rational discussion, we can come up with a solution with which we all can live." - Jo Rogers, Myshelf.Com
Rating: Summary: I loved it Review: Being an African-American, some of the comments I found offensive and I disagreed completely. But when you read the entire book, you realize you're not supposed to agree with everything.... You're just supposed to understand that every subject should be discussed and nothing should be off limits. -Tyrone Deckard
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Book Review: I also never tell people what they want to hear. Whether they accept reality or continue their own way as they are used to, I'll always tell anybody, openly and frankly, words and criticisms without hurting anybody. As I've understood, JD Williams also respects people, no matter where they come from or what they believe. To make changes, a whole nation will have to change its consciousness. This might seem unreachable, but it's possible under certain conditions: It will need at first a wise man as a leader, who provides a good model, but this would reach just the very beginning of an awfully long process. -Manuela Raguse
Rating: Summary: I applaud you Review: I applaud you for tackling the "uneasy". It's through thought and discussion that we arrive at a better understanding on one another. I wish you the best in you writing endeavors. Peace, Ellen DuBois Author: I Never Held YOu

Rating: Summary: Thank You Review: It's about time someone finally stood up and had the guts to say what most people really think. I know it took courage for you to write this...and thank you from the old and forgotten silent majority.
