Rating: Summary: Read it for our ceremony Review: My husband and I used one of her suggested vows for our wedding ceremony (it's the one that begins "I take you to be my partner in marriage and in life."). While I didn't agree with everything Ms. Kingma wrote, I *do* wholeheartedly agree with her emphasis on creating a wedding ceremony that is appropriate for you. I am very glad that my husband didn't just leave the wedding to me, but was a full participant in our discussions; I think this is why we've just celebrated our third anniversary, without a single major fight.
Rating: Summary: Okay, depending on what you want Review: My partner and I combed through this book learning the history and meaning of different kinds of ceremonies which really helped us as we wrote our own. I am not a specifically religious person so it was helpful learning the background behind the different parts of traditional ceremonies (invocation, vows, etc) as well as seeing how different folks (pagan, recovery) have created their own ceremonies. I actually found these sections a bit cheesy, but it was still a useful book in all.

Rating: Summary: A "must read" book for second marriage ceremonies. Review: One of the few books on the market that includes succinct ideas and ceremonies for the second marriage. Any couple who wants to create their own unique and creative wedding will want to buy this book. The author expresses "heart" in a wedding ceremony on each page. A must read for the discriminating bride.
Rating: Summary: Looking hard for a Unique wedding? THIS BOOK might help Review: This book is not a workbook on what kind of linen to use at your reception or how to get bridesmaids to wear ugly dresses... For someone (me!) who's trying to put together a spiritual, unique, open-minded wedding this book helps. It's been really hard finding books that are for people like me that don't want to have a Church wedding with a lot of pomp and circumstance that doesn't keep in mind those of other sexualities and partner relationships. Though this book doesn't scream alternative..it's a good reading and offers a lot for you to think about!
Rating: Summary: Weddings from the heart Review: This book was a great place for my fiance and I to start some dialoge about what we want. Both of us have been married previously and it was an excellent way for us to compare what we had before, and design a ceremony that is unique to us as a couple. We took a pen and circled parts we liked from several ceremonies and hope to compile them into one. This book came recomended to me and now I see why.

Rating: Summary: wonderful wedding resource Review: This book was an extremely valuable resource in planning my wedding. We were able to put together a ceremony that perfectly stated our feelngs and expressed what we wanted for our ceremony. Some of the selections may have seemed silly to me, but there were just as many that I loved! I highly recommend this book for writing a personal and meaningful ceremony.
Rating: Summary: This was our favorite book! Review: This was the most complete source for our ceremonial planning. The suggestions were great for anyone wanting a very non-traditional, spiritually based (not necessarily religious)unforgettable wedding. the author presents different types of ceremonies (ie: 2nd marriages, alternative lifestyles. We picked and chose many different sections of the book to create our entire ceremony. This is a great book to help in planning if you don't want the common, boring, religious-based ceremony.
Rating: Summary: Vows to open your hearts as well as those that witness! Review: We wrote a lovely ceremony for our garden wedding last July. Many were moved to tears by the heartfelt expression of our love and many others came up and asked where we got the ideas. Thank you Daphne Rose for expressing what we had in our heart and soul.
