Summary: Terrfic Practical Approach on Castaneda's Work
Review: By reading this book, you will find out that our modern life is nothing more that a bunch of non sense, on the other hand living like a warrior is more challenging than any task that you could imagine or find in your life. If you are prepared for that challenge this book is definitely for you, otherwise do not spend your time on this.

Relating to the Castaneda's work, I really think it is an important piece of work but Castaneda rarely gives a practical approach to Shamanism except for his work on "Magical Pases". I really think Sanchez's work is really a great contrubution in this field since he has filled the gap that Castaneda left in his work which is the practical stuff. In my personal opinion Sanchez has not "stolen" anything from Castaneda, he just made it better and that's a terrific contribution to cosmic consiousness in planet Earth. Thank you for your teachings Victor!

Go for this book, you will not be disappointed in anyway.

Summary: Great Disappointment
Review: For one, who read Carlos Castaneda books couple of times and knows the contents pretty well, this book will be a great disappointment. Castaneda is (or at least, was) a cult writer in the Europe; one could not possibly live through the high school or university without running into this magic world - and Dr. Sanchez just repeat over and over again information you already know "by heart". I have originals - why do I need the poor copy?

Just for the sake of "impeccability" - two stars for pointing the Castaneda's books for somebody who did not read them yet.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: MOST UNIMPRESSIVE
Review: I have read all of Castaneda's books and I am most unimpressed with this book by Sanchez. He has neither the eloquence nor the literary wit of Castaneda. Sanchez has made a career from riding on Castaneda's coattails. He does little to make it easier for the reader to assimilate Castaneda's teachings. Esmeralda Arana (The Path) does a much better job at making Castaneda's teachings accesible to your average reader. I give Sanchez two stars for a thorough reading of Castaneda's material but cannot give a high rating for this boring regurgitation.

Summary: The Best Aprroach to Castaneda's Topics
Review: I love this book because it helped me to use the ideas from the books of Castaneda in a way that really helped me to make the warrior's path a reallity in my life. I have been fan of Carlos Castaneda for more than twenty years, but I was confused about the "non-ordinary-reality" events described in his books. Only after reading Sanchez I could find a more down to the earth approach which was very refreshing. The best part happens when you practice the excercises and this book has a lots of them!
I also recommend Toltecs of the New Millennium from the same author. That book is very useful if you want to know about the actual experiences with indigenous people that provided Sanchez' background to approach Castaneda. I give five stars to The Teachings of Don Carlos because is the more grounded and honest approach to the books of Castaneda!

Review: I personally went to a 4 day workshop near Santa Fe New Mexico several years ago.. Victor Sanchez is the real thing..a real Shaman. If the reader will allow the ideas presented in the book to sink in and be tried out for oneself, I am most certian that you will understand.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: It is a shallow interpretation
Review: it is a shallow interpretation that belittles the lifetime struggle of the doctor Carlos Castaneda. It completely misses the point of what it means to live impecably in the tradition of the chamans of ancient mexico. Sanchez obviosly is capitalizing on the magical attraction of the wisdom within the works of Castaneda. It does not come close to the experience of living and reading the complete series of Castaneda. If you really want the practical side of this magical world please direct yourself to the book Magical Passes of the same author.

Summary: There are no Toltecs! So how can this guy be one?
Review: Self help books are nice. Right? They teach us how to cope with
stress, how to count to ten before we have a temper tantrum, all sorts of
good stuff we can learn from them. We can even sign up for a "workshop" and
go traipsing around the Pyramids outside of Mexico City for a week with some
New Age guru who can help our team from our corporation work more lovingly
and productively while we make smart bombs or toxic food additives or
whatever. But if we have to believe that our gurus here are Toltec Indians,
we need a reality check, I am afraid, because the Toltec Indians disappeared
from history some 700 years ago, I hate to break it to you, and it does not
matter how many times someone has been on Oprah claiming otherwise. It is
just a hard, historical fact that someone is going to have to face up to.
Well, if your accountant can get this junket written off of the company's
tax statement, I guess it is okay. But as far as buying a book like this -
well, CAVEAT LECTOR.

Summary: On the track of Carlos Castaneda
Review: This book gives practical aspects of Carlos castaneda teachings. Even Sanchez wos not a Castanedas student, he did some research himself and gives great ideas how to practice Castanedas teaching.

It's one of the best experiental books in this field.

It's the book that can help every man that wants to introduce some of Castanedas magic in his life.

Summary: Carlos Couch Potatoes Don't Bother!
Review: This is truly a PRACTICAL guidebook to the sometimes mystical teachings of Don Juan. If you are an avid fan of the Carlos Castaneda series of books and would like to lose self-importance, erase personal history, stop your internal dialogue, and set up dreaming, purchase this book. I have but two Shamanic reference books and this is one of them. This is not a book for those who wish to gain freedom by quoting Don Juan! The exercises in this book are easy to perform but can be very challenging and very rewarding. This book is a living study of his work (Carlos Cataneda). Practice these concrete techniques and move your assemblage point.
