Summary: A good read - a book of lessons
Review: I liked this book. It was hard to put down. As interesting as the characters and their stories were, the best thing about this book is the lessons it offers. I used the very first story, the accidental shooting of Freddie, as a teaching tool for my 8-year old. We read it together then had a long discussion on how a string of little, not-that-terrible incidents of disobedience, led to death - an accident that could have been avoided if any one of the children had followed the rules. The rest of the book was loaded with lessons for all ages. I must say that after a time, it got too fairy tale-ish for me. There were too many coincidences, like Gayle working at the same hotel Pat was staying at, at the same time. The book could have been better if everything wasn't so "perfect." Anyway, it was very enjoyable.

Summary: Tryin' to Sleep is an extraordinary book about relationships
Review: This book enthralled me from page one. Tryin' to Sleep in the Bed You Made allowed me to eavesdrop on the lives of Gayle, Patricia, and Marcus. However, by the end of this work, I felt more like a close friend who had shared in the experiences of these characters rather than an intruder. If you're searching for a heart-warming book about overcoming past horrors and building solid relationships, then turn the pages of Tryin' to Sleep in the Bed You Made--you'll surely find it there.

Summary: I Could Not Put This Book Down
Review: This book is incredible. Throughout the whole book, I just kept saying, "She is just like me." I felt like the two authors were writing about me. The dialogue is real, almost a little too real. The situations are also very true to life. The technique they used of telling what the characters were really thinking, even though they may have been saying the exact opposite was also a twist. If you haven't read this book, do so, you will be engrossed by the end of the first chapter and in love with the charactes by the second. I promise!

Summary: An Easy and Enjoyable Read!!!
Review: This book was enjoyable from beginning to end!! I began recommending the book to family and friends before I was halfway through it. It's great to see African American women come out of difficult situations stronger than ever!!! I look forward to reading more books from the authors.

Summary: Superb! A MUST READ!!!
Review: This is one of the best books I have ever read. I think the chemistry between the two authors is fantastic. The flow that they have makes it difficult to figure out where one author stops and the other starts. The characters Gayle, Pat, and Marcus are most definitely 3 dimensional characters. If anyone has ever had a really good friend in your life you can relate to how your friendship goes through it's ups and downs. They have shown that and then some with these 3 characters. I found myself laughing on some parts and cringing on others. I was so wrapped up in the story that I found myself talking out loud to some of the characters. I have given this book to a couple of people to read and they too had the same response. Ladies keep up the good work and I am awaiting your next venture anxiously.

Summary: This book is amazing!!! I could not put it down!!!
Review: The characters are well developed and the story line is believeable! "Waiting To Exhale" does not compare to this riviting tale. Every character is "someone you know" and shows us different parts of ourselves. It will keep you on the edge of your seat!

Summary: A book you 'll be sorry has to end!
Review: Although the book was hefty in pages (400+), I still found myself wanting to know more! I want a sequel! I loved the characters, I felt for them, I identifed with them. After all the man-bashing, catty sister-girl books, this one rings true of womanly comraderie. Read it, you'll love it!

Summary: Captivating and Refreshing.
Review: The realization about what life really means to Pat and Gayle will take you back in time and toward the future. From young girls to women the love, happiness and sadness that these two women experience draw you into their world. Secrets shared, emotions raw and untouched, and deception unscathed will keep you in your seat and wanting more. I'm looking forward to the next work of art created by these two authors.

Summary: Could Not Put This Book Down
Review: As usual, I find a great new book to read right before finals begin! This was a great book that I read in in less than two days (Outside of work and classes). It kept me engaged the entire time. The character development was great and it kept me wanting more. When I was finished I immediately went to the book store looking for more titles by these two ladies. I'll be quick to buy when they publish again!!
