Rating: Summary: ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE EVER READ Review: This book grabbed a whole of me from the very start. I just happened to be in the book store one day and picked it up when it first came out. As I read it I could totally relate to every aspect of Gayle and Pat's friendship, the ups and downs, the trials and tribulations! You must read this one! I thought so much of it that I sent the authors an email and they personally responded! I have recommended it to everyone I know and they all have come back to say the same! I have been waiting for the next novel from Deberry and Grant! I just know it will be a must read as well.
Rating: Summary: Awesome. Intense! True Friendship! Review: The lives of the people are so real. One event in their lives changed the course of their lives. The friendship they have is so real. Ups and Downs, but always, always, when needed that friend will be there!
Rating: Summary: Slow start but racing to a great finish!!!!!!!! Review: This book starts out slow, but after a while it gets a hold of you, and has you eager for more. The things in this book happen each and every day out there to people. Pick this one up. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. I read it in two days. These ladies deserve a round of applause. I'm just waiting for the encore!!!!
Rating: Summary: wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!! Review: My friend Nicloe (whose also an English teacher) gave me this book to read. I loved this book! I really did not think that it would work with two authors, but this book really flowed. I think that these women really understand friendship with all of it's ups, downs, bad, and good days.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining and funny Review: I discovered this book in a shopping bag one day when I returned from the grocery store. Apparently the cashier put it there by mistake. I thought "what the heck"...so I read it. I was so glad that book got into my bag! It was funny and sad. I hated to put it down. It's a story of two black women who had grown up together best friends. They are very different from the start and the book just shows how they grew up and the things that happened to them along the way. You don't have to be black to enjoy this book. I'm not and I did!
Rating: Summary: THIS IS A GREAT BOOK FOR YOUNG AND OLD. Review: I LOVED THIS BOOK I READ IT THREE TIMES . THE IDEA OF TWO WOMEN WRITING IT WAS GREAT. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. THIS IS A MUST READ . WHEN ARE COMING OUT WITH A NEW BOOK . I HOPE SOON .
Rating: Summary: "un-Huh" This book is a chapter out of all our lives! Review: What a WONDERFUL first work! I stayed up until the wee hours finishing it because I couldn't put it down. The writing is so easy and the language so familiar that I was too concerned about what was happening to the characters who it seemed like I already knew that I just HAD to stay up to travel with them on their journey!
Rating: Summary: I could not put it down ! Review: This was is an excellent, excellent book! I got so involved with the characters and their emotions, I did not want it to end. Just like another reader commented, I want a sequel. But, Marcus and Patricia must stay together!
Rating: Summary: a must read for everyone Review: i thoroughly enjoyed reading DeBerry and Grant's first novel. it was an easy read and once you get started it's very hard to put down. every chapter leaves you more stunned than the last and that really held my interest. the characters were people that i could relate to; have known in the past and have met in the present. it was witty and charming and i've been sharing it will all of my friends ever since.
Rating: Summary: A really, really good book! Review: The authors did a wonderful job with this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it. From the very beginning, the friendship was formed between Pat, Gayle and Marcus. Unfortunately, society forced these children to believe that they had to live with a totally horrid secret that was actually an accident and no fault of theirs. Funny how true friendships are often born of tragedy. The personalities of the characters were thoroughly described. I felt I knew each character personally. I recommend this one.
