Summary: Loved it! Loved it! Loved it!
Review: This is one of those books you talk about for weeks and recommend to all your friends. I can't wait to read their next book!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Reminiscent of the past, and full of hope for the future.
Review: I'm always searching for a novel with a good plot. One that is not centered around a woman finding all of her worth in a man. I think this book does a great job of living up to my expectations and being realistic. Okay it did have some romance, but doesn't every life. Anyone looking for something to read and tired of that old cat and mouse game, well this is a good book. It offers a reader with imagination, an opportunity to escape our own lives and into someone esle's drama. Remembering our own childhood, friendships, and most of all for young women, coming of age and dealing with society.

A lot of us had to let friends go, this book made me wonder what happened to this person, or another one. I hope that every one is allowed to see this work for how wonderful it truly is. Thanks ladies for a good experience, hope that I will be seeing more of your work in the future.

Summary: Best Novel You Will Ever Read
Review: This novel is very inspiring in my eyes. It includes real-life situations that are common among the lives of urban youth. The relationship between Gayle and Pat was remarkably unique. The different twists of life-style that the two took; was the catch of the story. It shows the trials of trying to survive in the most common situations in society today. One, the belief that you can not live on the support of another man. And then there's the lifestyle of surviving in and after college. The author also shows the real deal; showing that even in college there are going to be many trials that you will have to overcome; merely that it isn't all "good." Deberry and Grant also put forth the issue that you will always return to where you came from. You can never escape that. The relationship between two basically, "sisters" will always be; eventually you will need the other for one reason or another. I can't stress enough the reality in this novel.

Summary: witty, fresh, well written & down to earth
Review: BRAVO ladies! This was a wonderful with alot of twists and turns with every turn of the page. I am an avid reader of African-American authors and this is one for my collection. I identified with both Pat and Gayle (at one point in life or another)and I was truly happy for Pat when she and Marcus finally got together (it took long enough) and I felt very proud of Gayle for "Catching a grip on reality" but I was sorry she had to go through so much. P.J, Ramsey, and Turner were insensitive idiots but Marcus was a prince. I felt like I got to know these people (like old friends) Can't wait for the next one.

Summary: You can hardly put this book down.
Review: Gayle's sheltered life lead her to scrubbing floors and making people's beds when her bestfriend Pat's life of constant struggle lead her to Priceton and to basically running a law firm in New York. This book was about two women who grew up together in two figuativly different worlds. How they slowly grew apart because of the difference in their worlds. What I liked about this book was how it shows how every decision in your life effects you in the long run. I also liked how everything mentioned in the begining of the story was tied into it at some point and it always surprised you when it did. I liked being able to relate to each of the situations in the story.

Summary: Very well-written, good storytelling, captivating
Review: I enjoyed the book from the moment I picked it up. I couldn't put it down because the characters were so real. You could feel the emotions and all of the intensity of the pivotal scenes and defining moments for each character. I found it compelling and thought provoking.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: By far the best book that I've read in a long time!
Review: This story has so many twists and turns, I could not put it down. I started reading the book one Saturday morning; when I finished, it was nearly nightfall! Two thumbs up for an excellent mix of writing. What really made this a great read for me, is that the authors' "flow" of words were as one. I could not tell where one author started and the other picked up. I hope that a film is in the works! Great job!

Summary: Excellent story. Fiction, but "so" true.
Review: This book is something everyone should read. It is a very heart-warming story. It is truly the real world. It will definitely be on my Christmas list as a gift for friends. If Terry McMillian's story can make the movie scene so can Virginia Deberry and Donna Grant. This book was about life and the different roads you can take to get there. This book made me look at my life and where I am going. Ladies I take my hat off to you. You took a little bit of fiction and added a whole lot of life. I wish I would have read it sooner. Best wishes for a continued success and I hope to see you on the "Big Screen".
