Rating: Summary: God gives to those who have everything Review: The story is good but it lacks relevance to the rest of us beyond Donald Trump. After a life of doing unto others, the central character gets a chance to make amends, but doesn't have to give back, finishing his life as perfect. These are a jet set god and angels, maybe its a rebirth of Jacquline Susan as theology. For the rest of us, who were the victims or used by these types, we are left as pathetic and may get help from minor angels. This is not my idea of the loving god of Mother Terresa, this god is a snob. Sort of like the poor kid who wonders why Santa Claus gives all the cool presents to rich kids. Rather than enhance my faith it reinforced personal feelings that God bestows on a favored few, and is irrelevant to the rest of us who are pretty much on our own, even if we are the way he/she made us. I'd rather believe in the god of DOGMA. Father Greeley has shown an ability to make religious beliefs relevant to us, too bad he didn't put his good story line to a more relevant place here.
Rating: Summary: No real story, just Fake angels, and making love Review: This book is terrible. The idea was good and it could have been a great book, but the author seems to think that making love every other page in some way conveys a mans love for his wife. If a person is going to title a book and have the description on the back talk about angels, that is what the book should be about. While the sex is not graphic, Thank God, it is about 80% of the book. To me this has no purpose whatsoever. The title and description are very decieving and I would never have bought this book had they been honest about the content. It is very poorly written with little story to it. Read it only if you don't believe in God or angels and if you believe that making love to the wife every time you look at her is a way of making up for past mistakes and how to show her you love her. It was so boooooooooooring. If you want an excellent, and I do mean excellent, read, try the Left Behind series by Tim Lahaye, for excitement or the Mark of the Lion series by Francene Rivers, for romance. Don't waste your time or money on this one.
Rating: Summary: I laughed, I cried and it was very hard to put the book down Review: This book was Totally Awesome. I'm not a big reader, but after I read "Contract with an Angel" I went out and bought; Angel light - An old fashioned love story and Angel Fire. I got Contract with an Angel by mistake and I'm so very glad that I did. I would recommend reading Contract with an Angel to everyone.
Rating: Summary: A lovely trip! Review: What a great read! Fr. Greeley writes in such a way that the reader can truly empathize with the characters, and considering that several of the characters in this book are "spiritual entities," that's saying something! Somehow it is comforting to read about humans dealing with angels and God. When reading this book, you can truly escape from your everyday life and become a part of something you never imagined. I highly recommend the book for anyone looking for a nice, feel-good read to get you through the day. I won't give away the story, as I know several other reviews contain synopses. Suffice to say that it's a lovely story with a message that far too few of us take to heart. Enjoy!
