Rating: Summary: Starts Well Then Becomes Tedious And Predictable Review: The General starts off like a fast jet but then drags on for much too long a time. Further, you are likely to guess the ending well before you get there. For me the only thrilling part of this so-called thriller was when I came to the last page and could move on to my next book.
Rating: Summary: The General Review: The General written by Patrick A. Davis is a thriller at its best. Lieutenant Colonel Charles Jenson is put in charge of finding out who killed General Watkins. That is not an easy task considering there is not much help from the army and Air Force. If the truth ever came out the United States of America would be in serious trouble. As Colonel Jenson investigates the murder he runs into all sorts of problems. For one, General Watkins was working on an investigation of POWs in Vietnam. The information he learned from the investigation very well could have got him killed. As time passes there are even a few more homicides. Will Colonel Jenson ever find the killer? Patrick A. Davis is a retired Air Force Colonel. He is a full time writer and has three books out right now. They are: The General, the Colonel, and The Passenger. All are exceptional mystery novels.
Rating: Summary: Tom Clancy and John Grisham watch out! Review: The plot keeps twisting, as you keep turning... the pages, that is. I haven't read an author so compelling since Grisham. Patrick Davis better get started writing his next!
Rating: Summary: Remember Tom Clancy's first book? This one's way better! Review: This book is unbelievelably good! The plot twists, the dialogue is realistic, the characters are believable. And the scope of the plot is grandiose. Mr. Davis is on his way big time, if he keeps this up. It has been a long time since I've enjoyed a book so much. The fact that I picked it up at the Admiral's Club at JFK for free did not influence this review -- if I could I'd send Mr. Davis his royalty check!
Rating: Summary: A great suspense thriller!!! Review: This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. I couldn't put it down. It will have you guessing till the very last chapter. Can't wait to read his next novel!
Rating: Summary: Good start, boring middle, predictable finish Review: This effort to add yet another conspiracy-based story to the crowded field begins with a grisly murder. It offers some intriguing possibilities dealing with Viet-Nam era military events and then descends into a routine thriller chase and deception story. Very predictable - the apparent explosion victim's body is not found - could it be that he wasn't really killed? You figure it out. Is the obvious suspect really not the killer? yfio. Is the hero's beautiful and charming family going to be threatened if he doesn't cooperate? etc etc etc.
Rating: Summary: excellent Review: This is one of the best "first novels" that I have read in a long time. I rank it up there with Nelson DeMille's first thriller.
Rating: Summary: This one will keep you right on the edge of your seat. Review: This was one of the best action-suspense books I have read in a long time. I can't believe this was Patrick Davis' first novel. I predict he will succeed brilliantly as an adventure writer.

Rating: Summary: couldn't put it down!! Review: When I first started reading the Gereal I thought oh no just another POW story that you hear all the time but as the story moved on it got interesting and I couldn't wait to finish to see what had happened! I look forward to more of Mr. Davis's books, if he's first book was so interesting , just think what he's next well be like!!
