Rating: Summary: A great road map to help you get where you want to go. Review: I am in a Direct Sales Business (clothing) and a friend of mine (also in the same type of business) gave me this book as a present. When I started reading the book it was extremely difficult to put down. At first I read the book for my own benefit but slowly that changed to being able to identify with other women, what they are going through, in all phases of their lives, and how to get to where we as women want to be, without having to compromise our values. This book was truly insprirational and helpful in assisting me get in tune with what I want out of life, my dreams, my values, my goals, my strategies, and putting them all together.
Rating: Summary: A must for women to read and re-read! Review: I was so happy to see the book "With Wings There Are No Barriers" on your list.I have recommended this book to many women and they have all thanked me, some have sent me cards to let me know how much it helped them.Sue is a long time friend. We meet when we were both involved with a wonderful company called Avacare out of Dallas Texas. We have a great deal of respect and appreciation for the former owner of that company Mr.Clinton Howard for giving us both opportunities twenty years ago that has contributed to our success to-day. He saw in Sue her ability and passion to teach and help other women gain confidence and self- esteem. This was at a critical time in her life, and I know how important it was for her to have Mr.Howard believe in her potential and give her the chance to be our company trainer. You will notice when you read her book that she expresses her appreciation to him for his belief in her. I was given the opportunity to be a co-ordinator for Avacare so I would arrange Sue,s trainings, room and travel.I also got to go with her so we were able to get to know one another well, and we realized we had a lot in common. So even after Avacare was sold we kept in touch. I always appreciated Sue being interested in the many things I was doing in my life.So in Sept.97 when she called to let me know she was the guest speaker at the Nottawasaga Inn (which is almost in my back yard) and wondered if we could have lunch and do a little catching up,I was quite excited. I had yet another venture that I saw a need for, and I wanted to get her feedback and feeling about the idea.I shared with her that I wanted to start a network group for women where we would bring positive caring women together with those who are just developing their wings in business and life skills.I had a outline of how I invisioned this group running which I explained it to her and I told her that I wanted to name the group W.I.N.G.S.(Women In Networking Growing Strong) Her reaction was very favourable! With a tear in her eye she took my hand, and said "don't think about it just do, I see a need for support for women everywhere I go and this is the right thing at the right time and you are the right kind of person to start such a support and network concept." I get GOOSE PIMPLES when I tell this to people because although I knew Sue had a book published.I did not know it was entitled "With Wing There Are Know Barriers" So needless to say I knew W.I.N.G.S.just had to fly, and the very next month the first chapter was started. We now have ten chapters and W.I.N.G.S. is growing fast.Women love the concept, they say they like the fact that there is no membership or regular commitment, the awesome synergy, the need to express their goals and victories, the friendly co-ordinators,the great affordable luncheons, the positive productive networking, and no politics. We had our first convention last April, and Sue was our keynote speaker, she was thrilled to meet the W.I.N.G.S. women and happy to see how well the concept has been accepted. So although I carefully nurtured and cultivated the concept of W.I.N.G.S. Sue was the inspiration and motivation behind the idea becoming a reality. I wanted to share this with your women, I think this is a fine example of where networking to-day may take you to-morrow,and how we never know by our giving someone a chance and believing in them like Mr. Howard did with Sue and myself where it might lead. I look forward to telling the W.I.N.G.S. women about your site,I like what I see so far. Sincerely yours,Diane McGee
