Review: Read this book straight through with the lights on when I was 13-14. Still can't forget the fear. The writer is so artful, the reader could swear he or she was right there. Great movie too!!

Review: A very excellent good book, but contains heavy vigorous content

Summary: Excellent
Review: This book is great. I've seen the film 32 times and read the book twice. The book tells you more about the priest and the purpose of the devil (cut out in the film). The book isn't that scary but the stories Karras studies is real scary (real cases). The book is a good compliment (?) to the film. The sequel 'Legion' is recomendable too.

Summary: An Excellent Well Written and Intriguing Book
Review: This Book really evokes an atmosphere of evil, it starts off slowly and gradually works up to a great finale. anyone who has seen the filmn but not read the book is really missing out as much of the inner struggle intrigue and characterization of the book is missing from the film.

Summary: The Exorcist, a frightening novel, needed less description.
Review: The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty was a frightening story and would be recommended for anyone looking for an easy scare. The book is put together in a wonderful form that will give a diverse and intresting reading time. The switching of scenes is kept in good timing because while one thing is going on, events still occur in other settings of the story. In other ways, the book needs less of a scientific explanation to let the readers mind explore and not be fixiated on the fact it could all be medical. The story gives a strong pity for the mother of young Ragen, but could even be elaborated more. A more sensitive approach on what she is going through could give the story a veunerable outlook on things which would be better in this case. The Exorcist is an easy reader, is very realistic, and all who can stomache it, should read this one.

Summary: "A shocking portrayal of demonic proportions"
Review: I first read the book about two years ago at the tender age of sixteen. The book did'nt terrify to a large extent on its own, but it is the simplicity of the story, and the way it stimulates your imagination. In certain situations I still find myself with all too vivid images in my head, which I could never put to words. The book has certainly reaffirmed my once slightly transparent belief in a God and a Satan, and if you want a book that scares you then this is one. I would like to say, however, that scary as people may find the book at the age of 13 or so, these readers appreciate less of the story than someone slightly older, with more experience of what the imagination is truly capable of. A shocking and terrifying book, all the more so because of the simplicity and purity of the storyline. Keep this out of reach of the weaker hearted.

Summary: Perhaps, the best book ever written!
Review: Despite the fact that I am at the tender age of 15, I have read about 50 novels, most of them horror. "The Exorcist" is the best! When I first saw the movie (before reading the book), I laughed at it. Then, I read the novel. Now I can't watch the movie unless it's daytime and there other people in the room. The book is so powerful. It was scary, yet strangely beautiful. The best part about it, was that it made you think. In the book, you don't know if Regan is really possessed or not. In the movie, you know she is. In the book. the climax of the story is told in Chris's perspective. She hears screams and a window breaking. In the movie, you know exactly what happens. Don't get me wrong, I love the movie too, it just doesn't compare to the book. In conclusion, even if you hated the movie read the book. It's well worth the price.

Summary: Makes Stephen King's "It" seem like a children's book!
Review: I am only 14 and I've finished this book in two days. I could not bear to let it down. I was so fascinated about what would happen next. This book is so detailed I feel like that I lived and expierienced the whole thing. This book was creative and was carefully planned. Blatty must of had this idea in his head for quite some time. I have not read the other two "Exorcist" novels because I cannot find them. The question to this book is "Is Reagan a loon?" I personally think not. It said that she had her entire face turn into some sick thing. No human being can do that. I must congratulate Blatty for a job well done!

Summary: Great!
Review: When I first heard about "The Exocist" it was from a friends mom. She told me that the movie she saw as a teenager was different then the one we were about to see. She was telling me all these gory parts that they had to cut out of the movie. When the movie first started I thought it would be cheesey or something. But I started to get really scared by the end I was just like shaken. Just seeing a 12 year old girls head spinning was horrific! My friend and I went to the libary the next weekend. While I was looking at some books, a book feel from they shelf behind me. It was "The Exorcist". I sat down and started to read it soon I couldn't stop. I took it out and read about a little more than half before my mother found it. She told me it wasn't meant for people my age (13). She took it back and I haven't really thought about the movie or the book since. But now I'm always scared the devil will come after me. I can't even close my eyes in the shower anymore.....
