Rating: Summary: enjoyable to read Review: I thought this was really good, because it kept you guessing what happen to them, trying to figure out why they had to hide. I read his other book Nathan Run and that was good.

Rating: Summary: It has twists, turns and tension through to the last page. Review: I took this book on holiday with me, having never heard of Gilstrap, and now I am a total fan & cannot wait for his next novel. The very first chapter sets the tension and excitement for the entire book, and the second half of the book has constant twists and turns. John Gilstrap brilliantly takes you into the lives of each character, and I particularly liked the way he went back in time to re-live certain critical espisodes of the characters' lives. Although a couple of aspects of the story may be a little flimsey, I could ignore this as I was totally ingrossed. A word of warning, do not read the last couple of charters late at night in bed as I did, because I guarantee you will feel so drained and tensed up that you will not be able to sleep afterwards.
Rating: Summary: If you're wary of FBI, you'll love this one Review: Leave your logic at the door, come in, and read a great page turner. Two innocent people on run for the rest of their lives, suddenly decide to prove their case in the interest of letting their child know the truth. This is not the typical "good guys in white hats, bad guys in black" and that makes this a grabber. Couldn't put it down last night and will pay the price today. But the good guys won, so I'll be a happy napper!
Rating: Summary: Solid effort Review: This book is a strong thriller that succeeds where many fail: the characters are believable and act and react in realistic ways. I also felt fufilled at the end, as this author knows how to bring a story to a close. Its premise reminds me of FALSE ACCUSATIONS (Alan Jacobson), another great read that I highly recommend, in which an innocent individual is accused of a terrible crime. While FALSE ACCUSATIONS and AT ALL COSTS are both thrillers, they approach the topic from different perspectives. Both grab you from the start and hold you to the end. You can't go wrong with either one.
Rating: Summary: WAIT FOR THE PAPERBACK Review: At All Costs is by no means a classic. Indeed, there are many flaws with the thriller including occassionally unrealistic dialogue, over-simplicity and the fact that you have undoubtedly seen the elements of At All Costs before. This is where At All Cost suffers. The plot is a very simple one, your typical- American-citizen-turning-out-to-be-a-fugitive blend. The main charatcers are likable enough and the political aspect of the book isn't exaggerated. The action was intense and I found my palms sweating when appropriate. The fundamental problem is, at the end of the day, that we, Americans, are being choked with thousands of thrillers JUST LIKE THIS ONE. The successful ones offer never seen before literature but sadly, At All Costs does not. It's a good, fast read, nothing exceptional. Unless you're a die-hard fan, wait for the paper-back.
